Quietest Extraction Fan?

Hello All,

Getting ready to make a few purchases. Just need to figure out what the quietest extraction fans are. Any recomendations? Need something big enough to handle 2 400w lamps in two 4'x4' spaces 8' tall. So nothing too large. 150-250cfm. Just need it to be extra quiet. I had thought about a home depot inline fan for each space and just use the insulated ducting to kill the noise a bit. Not too sure what would work best though. Last time around I used a 90cfm bath fan. But I was working within a small refrigerator so it was quiet and efficient.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks

One of your spaces is 128 ft³ - I think the general guideline is to choose a fan than can exchange the air 2 or 3X/min, so you might need a more than 250CFM.

I just upgraded my 400W HPS to use an Elicent 6" 309 CFM fan, it's really powerful and more than I really need. But it's quieter than then cheaper fans that I replaced.

Read about it in my grow diary at http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=33907&page=2

Ideally, air needs to be replaced every three minutes (or twenty times an hour). a 250 cfm fan would change air 1 time each min. in both rooms, so i think 250 cfm should be inuf for 2 x 400w, i got a 125 cfm fan for a 3x3x6 and its overkill on my grow tent the sides get sucked inwards when closed, i think i could have had 2 times the space for that fan..
