Does anyone use Elicent 6" Centrifugal Fan 309 cfm 150B?? How quiet is it?

Or do you recommend any other type of fan for a 400 watt HPS, but needs to be super quiet.

thx!!

I think any fan will get loud because the noise is generated by the air wooshing through the ducting and not the fan itself. i recommend a dimmer and a lot of acoustic foam. throw a muffler into your duct work and it should help a lot.

also, run a hepa filter, fish tank, noisy fan, radio, anything to generate some masking noise for extra protection.

thanks! great input...

I thought about a fish tank actually...

right now i have a smaller fan to circulate the air inside the closet, but damn, its loud at nite...

i thought about getting a muffler, but people here told me those dont work and it aint cheap, so i kinda gave up on that idea....

Just use some insulated ducting on the fan and don't create any excess backpressure and it'll be fine.

Do NOT use a dimmer for an inline fan...you need a solid state speed controller if you want to slow it down.

i was also thinking you could put your computer in the same room as the grow and install a fan in the case on a controller and when youre not home, turn it up to an annoying level.
