Quickie : Quick Turn! different methods..

Hi
On the quick turn bottle i purchased it says to starve the plants and feed it all at once with a mix of water.
However the hydro shop guys say just to put A into the drum (200litres) for a week then put B in for hte next week?
anyone know which one is better? thanks
