quick question

i have these 2 white rhino plants along with 7 other plants that are 38 days into flowering they all are on the same feeding schedule but these two phenotypes must have twice the bud. my problem is their big fan leaves are turning yellow. could this be because they want more nutes or because they are really fast in flowering?

i really dont have a digital cam to post pics sorry.

I have found in the past AK47, Skunk and White strains seem to turn yellow half way through bud starting from the bottom up. I believe this is normal with these strains, but only to a certain extent. Do what was suggested above and see if that helps. If not, it's probably just genetics. A picture would help us out much better if possible. Good luck!

How is your soil ph?Did you use dolomite lime?I used to have a lot of problems with low ph in flower because I didnt use dolomite, this always resulted in nute lockout and yellowing of leaves from the bottom up.It is normal to a certain degree for the leaves to lose their nit. during flower, but they may stay green a lot longer with the use of dolomite than without it.

Funny you should mention that Skeletor as you were the one who originally turned me on to Dolomite Lime back on OG. Since I have been using it I have had no problems at all anymore and my plants stay greener longer. Thanks for that tip so long ago! So ya, do as Skeletor says - he knows what he is talking about.

I guess I'm a little obsessed with the ole dolomite,I snort it when nobody's looking.EDIT Seriously,I've learned to pound down the nitrogen during the 3 or 4 week stretch, this has really helped a lot in keeping fans green longer and just piling on the foliage which results in more buddage in the end.I use a bloom fert the day I go 12/12 because I'm taking cuttings, then maybe 1 more time during the stretch period, besides that its all nitrogen during the stretch.Nitrogen doesnt "hinder" or "delay" flowering,it actually increases veg growth during the stretch, the plants going to flower regardless

I usually use my veg formula 2 weeks into bud, and then switch. This and the dolomite lime really help my bud production and prevent premature yellowing. Some would think taste would be altered as the plant stays greener longer, but this is not the case. If a good flush is done then I find the buds taste superb.

Usually what I do to flush is about a week before finished budding I let the plant go dry to the point of drooping slightly. Then I take the plant and put it in the tub, soak the crap out of it so that water flows from the holes like a river. I do the flushing as quick as I can as I want the plant to soak up pure water and the least amount of nutes. I find this works great for taste and have been doing this for a year or so now.

no i didnt use dolomite lime, my ph is at 6.5. the funny thing is its only happening to the two plants that have the most bud on them. the leaves dont look like they do when there is nitrogen def. they actually look like fall leaves... they are dry and brittle but they wont fall off. like i said these two plants have to have twice the amount of bud as the other plants... its like they are finishing up too early.

38 days into flower is almost there... I'd say yellowing is fine.

In fact I always get yellow leaves mid to end flowering. I've never had a plant stay all green... ever.

I wouldn't worry about it unless there is more going on than a slight yellowing of leaves this round... not much you can do until next run, add more earthwormcastings or use sweet heading into flower.
