Quick Organic Question

I have been informed that it does no good to add organics (tea's specifically) if you are using chem nutes (Fox Farm flowering). I was told the nutes would kill off any positive effects of the teas.

Is this true.

If not I have worm castings that I wanted to make a tea from to use during watering days. What ratio should I use with this tea.

Thanks

if you are over using the chemical ferts it creates a habitat that is not very conducive for the microorganisms. That doesn't mean that it kills the micro's...it doesn't. Alot of folks suppliment salt based ferts with organics in soil with good success.

I don't recall any specific ratios to use with WC...I would use a cup or two per gallon...you can't overuse wormcastings.

Thanks for the info..

I am already using succanat (sp) sugar, but will be switching to the molasses after reading up on it more.

I will begin the tea this weekend....

Thanks

I believe a synergistic mix of both organics and synthetics will provide for the utmost in herb quality... :yoinks:

... S R... :joint:

I was very disappointed in my last grow so I made major changes this go around. Switched from SOG in small bags to SOG in a large bed... Changed my height issues and re-directed venting.

I mixed my FF ocean Forest with the normal perlite and coco - but added some worm casting. Going into flower I wanted to make sure I was doing my best to FEED THE SOIL not the plant..

I want to move more towards organics going forward...

thanks

ditto. fox farm isnt that chemmy so you should be fine. it is organic based. i used the fox farm stuff once to give it a try and it disappointed big time. although i did brew some in a tea with a lot of additives of my own and it did pretty well.

yea "wormcastings" and "too much" dont go together.

Some of the soil biology will suffer but many won't, alot of nutrients are a combination of an organic fertilizer and a salt based fertilizer (like PBPro).
Results are usually good with a mix if your doil conditions are optimal as far as ph and salt levels, salt buildup requires leaching which can be done using an activated compost tea, I find a light tea the best to "reset" the soil.
In short it can't hurt as my friend JK puts it ;)

You can use both salt and organic ferts together. But we strive to get the utmost out of our bacteria. We have gone to extreme measures to get our microheard thriving and multiplying. (If you don't believe it, check out "Organic Fanatic Collective.") But you can use both with success. However, I think you would do much better with one or the other. JMO.

Yes well some of us are "fanatic" about being all natural, but live and let live :D
