Quick Dumb Dolomite Lime Question!

OK. This is my first indoor soil grow (normally I grow DWC.) I am using Fox Farm Ocean Forest with added Verm. and Perl. I am showing some signs of early MG deficiency and I want to know if it is OK to add dolomite lime dissolved in my next watering to fix this problem.

I am a soil nube...I guess next time I will add the dolomite to my mix from the beginning.

look into sul cal mag. Works great as a foiler feed. But yes you can do that as well. And use your tea as a foiler spray.

What made you go from DWC to organics?

I think you might be right actually.... I would read the package on the back. Sul Cal Mag mon! Get some

Yes, I know I can get a Cal/Mag supplement...but I was also thinking that I should have added the dole. Lime when I mixed up the soil, initially, for the cal/mag-ness as well as the PH neutralizing properties.

You could apply dolomite to the soil surface and water it in. I would try 1/2 teaspoon to a 6" pot. This would be about 2.5 pounds per 27 cubic feet of soil. It may take 6 weeks for the lime to fully activate. I would expect the ph to rise .5 points at this rate. Be careful and not apply too much or your ph would get too high. There are liquid lime solutions that you can buy but are probably in large containers and would not be practical for you.

Sproutco is right you can dust the soil with d lime and then water. I did it but it's not very effective. Go out and buy the foliar spray it works faster I would still dust the pots too, can't hurt unless Ph gets to high. I heard L Karma works good as a spray thou I have not tried it on flowering plants.

cal mag or epsom salts. d lime breaks down too slowly and wont solve your mg prob if you try an water it in. hydrated lime is water soluable but very strong

Yeah, I broke down and broken out my Cervantes book...then I epsom salted it.

I guess I'll mix in the dolomite with the soil for my next transplant.
