Quick b22 bulb question

Hi. I bought a 85w cfl bulb with a b22 socket some time ago. I was going to start using it, so I got a b22 to e27 converter off of ebay. After buying it I noticed that the maximum load on the converter was 60w. Does this mean that no more than 60w will get through to the bulb, or that using it without a dimmer of some sort will reap horrible consequences? I really don't want to start a fire or something like that.

just get 4 100 cfl, lots less hassle. blue color for veg,, or that yellow orange to flower. the 100 are watts used at 27--or so. keep it simple
