Good evening growers,
Do you open your jars if you see no moisture build up on the glass jar? I am tempted to leave my jars closed for a couple weeks to try out Kyle Kushman's method of curing. He seems to think burping is counter productive to the curing process.

Please share your thoughts and experiences with this subject. We can never have enough debate regarding curing methods on these forums.

The science behind curing is in its most rudimentary state. There are some people who believe all curing does is sweat moisture from the inside of the bud for a more even dry and bud moisture level. There are also people who think all curing does is allow the bacteria to covert starches to sugars and slowly ferment the nasty hay smell and harsh taste out of the buds.

I want to hear what you do that gives you the loudest smelling and tasting dank. I also want to hear your thoughts on why you think you get the results you get. I want to hear your best explanations regarding the science.

Thank you! :)

so my personal method is to put the flowers in jars (around 75% full) when they are "snap clicky dry" ie: when you try to snap off a bud from the stem, it makes a clicking sound and doesnt take a "string" with it.

I then burp those jars twice a day for the first week, then once a day for 2 weeks and finally once a week after that up until 10-12 weeks after that I dont bother opening them any more unless I'm smoking them.

I like to turn jars on their side and leave them open for 3-5 hours. Then I close them up, wait 12-36 hours and do it again. This way you are keeping moisture levels relatively high and not losing too much too quickly.

I am of the opinion that curing is simply driving off all the moisture - I use a dehumidifier, done in 7 days, perfectly dry, captured as close to when I cropped it as possible.
I could be completely wrong :)

open them.

unless you have a hygrometer, you're taking a risk to get moldy shit.

i fill my jars 50% but lay them on the side. burped daily for 2-4weeks
