Questionable seed bank listings & Malawi Gold

I was just nerding out on seed finder trying to see what malawi offerings still exist. I saw that someone was actually offering afropips malawi gold. I excitedly clicked on the link, only to find the listing was under seeds of africa? WTF?

"Seeds of Africa" seems to claim to continue on Afropips' work, but I believe them to be one of those mostly unknown companies. If I were looking for random F1s or didn't care about lineage maybe I'd give it a go, but if you're hunting for landraces you want the real thing. I know Billybog here on IC is keeping a line of Afropips Malawi Gold alive. I was less than pleased with the overall experience - low germ rate, intersex issues, and very little resin production. I may have had bad luck however, and he has been very communicative as a seller here on IC and I believe him to be an honest grower.

I appreciate your informative response, thank you. I'm really put off by this though, its a simple bait and switch. Sketch of Africa? Do they specialize in seeds bred by fake Nigerian princes?
