Question on Cloning

There are no stores around me that sell rapid rooters. I was wondering if anything else works for cloning.

I've done cloning in 50 percent soil and 50 percent perlite. I've also done 50 percent perlite and 50 percent vermiculite. Just make sure the soil is damp and not soaked.....

Yep I've also used 50/50 perl./verm.,pretty hard to over or underwater with the right mix.Much better than a cup of water in my experience

Anything will work.

Anything will work.

What is important is the temps, they should be around 78 degrees at the medium fer fast rooting,no matter what ya choose.Good luck.Take care...BC

i have tried just soil and they all failed. even with a rooting gel. now i use rockwool and dutch masters replicator. i havnt had one cutting not root with this new method. i suggest you buy some online and some rockwool cubes, the small ones. you wont regret it.

I'm planning on using some of this too, just wondered what i would put them in after i put that stuff on. Think im gunna go with 50% soil 50% perlite

DarkCore, 12 oz beer cups with a couple drain holes in the bottom work fine, buy the red ones so light penetration into the soil is minimized. Follow the 78-80f regimen and all should go well.

Happy Growing and Peace

/I usually clone in just dirt only in a dixie cup with holes on the bottom. Just cut of a decent size branch and plop it in the dirt take your fingers and back it down so its in there tight. After that take a ziplock bag and enclose the cup and plant in the ziplock and it should root in a week.

ok sounds good. one more question. people said they put them in those plastic cups. how will those fit under a humidity dome? or what do you use?

i use two cups, the one with the soil is smaller than the other which is clear and fits snugly over top

or you can do a soda bottle
