question for verdant green

my buckets are 12 inhes high(5 gal) and plants are 12 inches high...last transplant they're goin in 10 gallon containers...do i place the screen on them now or wait til final repot?...if i put screen on them now,how high should it be from the plants?...reason i ask you is because you've scrogged northern lights and are familiar with their stretch,etc...gonna be a 1000 watt hps...they'll be under fluoros til then...

hey cc, you cant really fit the screen until they are in their final pots, but you can do a little training like lst to help the sideshoots develop. either top them or bend the tops over.

northern lights doesnt stretch a great deal. in general the more indica genes in the strain - the less stretch. more sativa = more stretch.

cheers

Hey VG

I see this is ancient and I am brand new but...could use a lil guidance.

I've got 5 sativas just starting to show female preflowers. I potted them from 1 gals to 4 gals today and placed them under a screen at 10 inches. They are decently branched from topping and super cropping. They fill about 30% of the screen. I'm wondering if i should set them at 12/12 right now or give them a bit more veg time. They had their first leaves on july 4. So far they have been growing outdoors. I'm at 40N. Today i brought them inside under a 550 actual watt LED 30" space. I've been on top of your grows and would be very appreciative of your direction.

First try for me
