Question for true soggers

Guest

Has anyone ever taken a cut from a vegging plant and a cut from a approx 2 week flowering plant of equal size, flowered them out,and compared the yield results? This question is only for people that flower clones immediately after rooting or actually anybody thats done the experiment.

There used to be a such thing as soil soggers, maybe I'm barking up the wrong forum.

what exactly do you want to know. clones from flowering plants take longer to root and have a lower survival rate. this is because the hormones are all fuked up for clonning.

I'm trying to determine if taking a cut 2 weeks into 12/12 produces a better yield then a comparable "veg" cut,WHEN IMMEDIATELY PUT TO FLOWER.I wouldnt consider taking a cut after 12/12 for the very reasons you mentioned, but I veg my cuts for several weeks. If you veg your cuts any amount of time, "veg" cuts are preferred, thats obvious.I probably should have taken this to the hydro section where there are more true soggers. Its not my growstyle but I've heard from smart people that growing true sog style 2 week stretching cuts are preferred.

Hey what's going on soilman.

I have a little bit of personal experience in taking clones from a vegging plant, and also taking clones from a flowering plant, and putting both straight into 12/12.

My experience with flowering plants from a vegging plant have been great, I took about 150 cuts at one point and yielded about 1/2 - 3/4 oz per plant. All of the clones were under a total of 2400W.

My experience with taking clones from a flowering plant are the complete opposite. They take a lot longer to root, and I lost a lot more than I've ever lost cloning from a vegging plant.

Taking the cuts from a vegging plant, and immediately flowering is an awesome way to grow, I have only positive things to say about it. However, if you have the room and time I would DEFINITELY recommend about 1 - 2 weeks veg after the clones have rooted for maximum yields.

Flowering right after cutting, and giving the clones 2 weeks veg time pretty much doubled my yields with the same room.

Soil: Why aren't you running a SOG system? In my opinion it is the only way to run a room if you want a sick yield. I ran large plants in the same room I SOG'd in and the yield was pitiful in comparison.

This is just my personal experience, and the results that I got, yours may be totally different, just figured I'd drop my two cents in.

Good luck man!

Thats great experience there,it answers my questions totally.I personally wouldnt consider taking a cut after 12/12 I've been down that road. This all started awhile back when I posted why in the world Jorge C. would suggest taking cuts about 2 weeks into 12/12.A very knowledgable young man with the distiguished handle of Charles Xavier responded with knowledge that blew my mind and for the first time in 6 years, someone had answered my question about Jorge.I took a lot of keywords, did some googlin, and did verify the info he espoused.I have to say the info was vague on plant species, but high on hormonal changes and other processes. We all know what happens to a cannabis plant when a cut is taken after 12/12 and revegged, non serrated funky fan growth describes it best lol,I'm gald you're around to give us first hand info on the subject of going straight to 12/12 with a 2 week cut.As for sog or going hydro,I've just recently got real close to 2 lb per 1K vertizontal with a co2 controller and R/O water with chronic strains like blockhead.I did it with large flowering plants in 3 gal containers.I've smoked the hydro grown here and it doesnt compare to erb grown in OF with PBP and FF nutes I tells ya.

I have to agree, cuts should be talke from veggin plants, but if you add 2-5 days veg time to the fresh rooted plants, your yields will be much better also. The nice thing about this method is any growth made during this period can be "buried" in the pot during transplant so you can have a nice even canopy to begin 12/12 with.

i will also agree that you're better of taking cuts from a veg plant. i grow sog because plants take up less room and allow me to grow perpetually. i can fit 15 plants under my 400 in 1-gal bags. since my light is in a fixed position, in a tube with a small reflector inside, i try to prop up the plants at the sides to get a parabolic canopy. i have noticed that there is a big difference in yield when you flower a freshly rooted cut vs flowering a rooted cut that vegges a little longer. lately i have been in the habit of taking my cuts, rooting them in jiffy rounds in 24-7 light, then transplanting to a keg cups for around 1-2 weeks of 18-6 light. i then flower when the roots have filled the cup and just before side growth starts. i try not to let side growth grow as i have no desire for popcorn buds at this time, and i like the extra light penetration. as my setup is perpetual, i put plants in every 2 weeks in batches of 3. i'm going to try a few rounds with letting the side growth go untouched and see how things go as i don't really need the extra light as i have around 95w/sq ft. and in case you're wondering my strain is hogsbreath and my soil mix is the 3-bag moonshine mix with both POM-F&F and POM-Starter. Since everything is pretty much already in the soil and it is pH balanced, i only add bubbled tap water. around midflower they need a boost of food with either liquid nutes or a tsp of the POM-F&F.
Good luck.
