Question for someone that's tried different grow methods (aero, hydro, soil)

Assume you're vegging a plant for 10 weeks and it takes 10 weeks to flower after that (just for the sake of this post). Take everything out of the equation except for growing method. And it turns out that it indeed takes you that long in soil.

How long should it take to veg just as much in hydro? (assume RDWC or similar)

How long should it take to veg in aero? (assume high pressure aero-method or close)

Flowering, same question.

Finding that magical person who has done a side by side by side with all three methods using perfectly identical cuttings and using a perfectly dialed in setup for all three styles is simply impossible. It's never been done and can't ever be done because no one knows what exactly the potential of every plant is.

Find your sweet spot and do your best to grow every plant to its potential. That's all we can do.

A lot of varying information to say the least. Some say 30-50% increased vegging rate, some say 100% using hydro. For flowering people say "doesn't help much"

I do Sea Of Green or SOG in hydro. 3x3 ebb/flow tray, 1000W, clones go in at 4 per sq/ft, 36 total.

I DON'T VEG AT ALL....STRAIGHT ON TO 12/12....VEG TIME IS A WASTE OF TIME IN A SOG.

aero is going to be the fastest if all things are perfect. Though, getting things perfect could take you 20 years. I am not kidding.

Believe it or not, the method you can do VERY well will be the best for you. Let me repeat that in another way, all these methods can provide a difference of quality and quantity. Though, none of these matter until you can actually Dial-In a grow. A dialed-in grow will far exceed anything else. So if you can dial-in a soil grow, it will far exceed a so-so grow of Aero. This is the best piece of advice I can give a new grower.

If I had todo it all over again I would of started with a quality soil in smartpots. Then I would of worked my way up to a hydro medium like Coco. Personally, I think Coco is the bees knees.
