Dubi, how would you compare the long flowering phenos of Purple Panama to the Purple Haze x Meao Thai phenos you are finding?

I am mostly concerned about flavor density of each. And more interested in the F1 and the Purple Panama although the F3 sounds fantastic.

Hello Booyah,

Both have very old school sativa kind of aroma/flavor but i think the purple panama would be slighty more powerful, easier to grow and faster to flower, also smaller in size than purple haze thai.

Purple Panama tastes like some kind of evil gas, very powerful euphoric weed.

Purple Haze Thai is spicy, woody, incensey ... more uniform hybrid, also very trippy and menthal...

Purple Panama is just a not very frequent and long flowering pheno coming from panama genepool.

Pretty much everything I wanted to know--When you say gas I assume you mean fuel. Thanks for getting back to me.

Heyya Dubi do ya ever plan on bringing back the purple panama? The way you describe it seems like something worth keeping in your catalog.

High Gerardbutler79,

Purple Panama phenos are totally worth keeping, but purple pheno is not a dominant expression so is not easy to isolate in seed form. Hopefully it will be released again but not in short term.

What are the odds of finding this purple pheno in a standard Panama 10-pack? I'm hoping for this pheno to reveal herself in my current grow. Wish me luck, guys.:ying:

It's not easy to find a purple panama pheno just growing one panama pack, is quite recessive pheno. More probable to find it in the standard line. You must dig a bit more into the population ;)

I have a feeling that Panama will be with me for a while and that I will be purchasing additional packs.

I'm already lucky to have found you guys.

:thank you:

Hello sativa lovers,

Stumbled into ACE and very happy to see 100% sativa genetics. Have been studying. We had a panama red from bag seed in the shed in the 80s and the goat ate it and had a time before harvest. It had much thinner leaves. Some of the pictures Ive seen of Panama have wider leaves than I would expect for a full sativa. Can anyone comment on this. The Panama is going on An open balcony garden. very hot in peak of summer, so I usually pick a sativa. 43N. A bit north, but last year we had a great grow season and the 80% sativa Im Medicating with finished great this year so I have high hopes for Panama. I will go with standard I think as I had poor results once using feminised and turned off. Although feminised does sound like a great thing as we have plant count laws in our state. Perhaps feminised technology has come around since then. is there still variation in feminised stock, i.e. different phenos? How is the seedstock running? What has been going on with this line in the last few crossings. Feedback on this project would be GOLD.

Hello Biosynthesis,

Our Panama strain (bred mainly by kaiki from CBG) has been bred many generations from the original thin leaved panama tropical lines. It has been selected towards more fast flowering and friendly indoor expressions, that's why after so much selection the hybrid shows wider leaves in the first weeks of life than a pure tropical landrace, is just a trait selection process and no indica was included in the breeding process.

Panama shows all her pure sativa glory in flowering without the inconveniences (very long flowering, fluffly flowers, bad indoor adaptability, low yield, etc ...) of growing a pure tropical sativa indoors.

I planted 2 panama, both in flower now 6 or 7 weeks.

Guess what, i got one purple pheno and i must say its the dogs bollcks.
Absolutey stunning plant, cant wait to smohe her. Smoke her good...

Justin

etdit: My panamas had a real slow start start in flower, i had to little space.

I had 2 panamas and 2 OE under 1 led.

But now i got an old hps bulb and put toghether a reflector.

1OE is still under led making progress the other tree is in a new room under a 400w hps.

The only one of the tree that is really moving along after the bad bad start is the purple phenotype. Right now it is week 7 or 8 and have real small buds but now atleast they getting bigger every day:)

How long flowering time is it on ms Purple?

Im so happy

Justin

Hi Justinsane,

I guess they will start to flower more vigorously now under the HPS.
Purple Panama sativa usually takes 10-13 weeks to fully mature.
I'm glad you are happy ;) Best wishes!

Hey dubi Im resurrecting this thread, Im running two panama outdoors in the southern hemisphere and it seems ive got two purple phenos from two seeds! Possible? Perhaps the batch was dominant in purple phenos? Anyway they started flowering before all my hybrids and indicas which is weird she also has very thin leaves compared to alot of the Panama pictures ive seen like red and green phenos.

Purple Panama

Hi Letstrip,

There's more presence of Purple Panama phenos in latest Panama releases. In 2013 we did a big panama selection/reproduction using many different lines, some of my favourite parental plants from this new reproduction were green/purple, now it's easier to find this great pheno in the current Panama genepool.

Here are some pics of Purple Panama pheno, looks quite similar to yours. Best wishes for the rest of the flowering!
