[QUESTION] Filter Material Used in "Dust Shroom"

Anyone familiar with the dust shroom intake filter? More specifically the filter material they use? The foam is advertised to filter spores and bacteria without inhibiting any airflow(0cfm)..and thats the kind of shit I'm looking for.

I want to make a smaller intake filter useing the same material that will fit my cab.

Also if anyone is aware of some other filter material maybe for medical use that will not diminish air flow feel free to chime in.

Hey there looks cool, BUTTT!!! you have to comprehend what they say "It was designed to do it" doesn't mean it will, there were a lot of planes "DESIGNED" to fly, but never did. You should email them and ask them if they guarantee what they say it is designed to do...

Peace

I have a small 4" shroom filter. It is way more of an open-cell foam that is impregnated with oil. The theory is the oil interferes with and captures the bad spores. There is a "recharge" kit that is basically a spray can of the oil to presoak the filter after cleaning.

It's like the old Brigg & Stratton lawn mower engine filters. An oiled sponge.

Block light? Probably, but your centrifugal fan should do that. Good luck. -granger

Dust Shrooms have an oil in them. It's basically a motocross filter. The oil attracts and holds the dirt, hair, mold, whatever, because it's kind of sticky. Once they get funky you just rinse them out and reapply the oil.

Dust shrooms are not only like the motorcycle filter, they are made in the uni- filter plant. A company famous for dirt bike foam filters. The O.P. Was looking for a smaller version. I would look at an atv or motorcycle shop.
