question bout 1000 watt and 600 watt

is it normal for the plants under the 1000 watt to be growing little bit bigger and faster then the plants under the 600 watt? both light are next to each other like 3 feet apart and all get same watering. there all from seed so could it also be that the ones under 600w are slower growers?

Sounds totally normal to me just like they'd grow a little faster and bigger under a 600W as opposed to a 400W.More lumens and par watts

It has been my experience that a pair of 600w HPS (placed closer to the plant canopy) will produce better light coverage than a single 1000w HPS. Just as a pair of 400w will have better light coverage than a single 600w lamp.

BTW, "light coverage" and "light penetration" are not the same in my book, hence the bulb with the greater watts will usually be superior when measuring the lamps ability to penetrate the canopy and shine on the lower leaves (aka larf producers). IMO, plants with a deep canopy (tall busy trees) will produce better yields with high watt bulbs, compared to low/medium watt bulbs. It all depends on one's canopy depth.

Much like Doc just posted, it depends on your growing style. I grow lots of Lil once topped ladies so I use multiple 600 because I don't need light penetration. If I grew bigger bushier plants I would use 1000 to penetrate.
