Question about weird characteristic.

Well I posted a question in the ducksfoot forum cause of something I heard (see this http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?p=627830#post627830)
So I want to know if anyone else has come across plants like this? The small 6&7 or 4&5 leaves (is there a name for those) are fused making a three leaf pattern. This I guess is a genetic quirk I think because I have grown seeds from the same bag and had regular leaves. It’s a very strong plant and is growing well. I plan to make it a mother or harvest pollen from it. I wonder if this is something like what wally was working with in the ducksfoot lineage.

Off topic do ya’ll think it would be possible to breed a plant other than marijuana with marijuana? Say a climbing vine or type of tree or bush? I saw a show about Christmas trees where a breeder cut a tree at a forty-five degree angle and fused a different type of tree to it looking for a cross breed.

nope.

apples & oranges ;)

I also have several three leaf pheno plants. Unknown strain I received as clones. I am trying find out info as well. Stems are purple and the plant is extremely stinky.

you can "graft" a MJ plant to a Hops plant.

I'm not exactly sure why you would want to, but you can.

(I dont think you can cross the two tho)

...also dont ya think its a bit soon to put the "mother" label on a seed plant. I usually take clones, and see how the bud smokes first....then make a mom from the clones, or if I didnt take clones...I'll re-veg and then take clones.

just a thought

If you look at the second photo you can see on the leaf closest to the bottom it has one small leaf that would be number four on closer inspection the fifth blade is fused to the third which seems to be so for all the other plants. Here is a more recent picture of it.

it has fleshed out and the leaves are now normal the first three nodes still have the three leaf pattern on the leaves. I’m not keeping it for a mother though I have some pollen stored that I might pollinate it with. I got some seeds from Dr. Chronic so I didn’t have room to keep it as a mother.

You'd be surprised how small you can keep a mother.

Cut it down to the bottom 3 or 4 tips and nurse it back.
The idea with mothers is that you can hurt the plant as much as you want without hurting the genetics.
Since regenerating damaged or sick plants is rediculously easy, maintenance of a mother is minimal. It allows you to get a little creative too, if you're into tying and shaping her.

The fused fingers are something i see pretty often in the first leaves a seed produces. It also does this in flowering and revegging.

OT: a lowryder was supposedly pollenated with a hops plant and produced viable seeds. the seedlings grew flat stems, i've never grown out lowryder but these were definitely unique from any MJ plant i've ever seen.

i saw this on highbred, anybody else?

at this point i don't believe either way until i try it for myself.
