question about the HTG "mother keeper" grow tent

hey all. Last bit of info before I know forsure that I will be going with this setup.

The tent measures 48x20x48. It says that its perfect for clones/vegging but anyone think its possible to veg 4-6 plants in there and then flower them aswell? It seems like there is enough space but id like to ask for your input first. Anyone own one? Thoughts or opinions?

The dimensions are perfect for the closet it would go in.

I would also probably go ahead and buy the kit that includes a 4 foot 4 bulb T5 fixture w/ bulbs, 4"inline boost fan, 6" clip on fan, and thermometer

Then when it comes time to flower ill throw in a 150w or 250w HPS

Just remember, your light is going to take up about a foot of height. So then you are left with 3 feet of height.

What kind of growing medium are you going to use?

DWC will probably take up about a foot of height, so then you would be left with 2 feet of growing height. You would probably need to be flowing clones with no veg time in order to not run out of room.

I would be growing with soil. FFOF.

Id probably only veg until they are about a foot maybe foot and a half.

Even if i had too, i could still flower with the flouros. Just throw in some nice tubes when i need too.

DWC = Dry Water Cure, correct? I wouldnt even be messin with that. This is going to be my first grow that im taking serious.

ahh, thats what that means. See, im still learning the terms and all.

Id be probably using 1 gallon buckets. This is all for personal smoke so im not worried about obtaining HUGE plants. Quality over quantity for me.

Let me see if I understand, you have a closet that is exactly the right size to put this tent into, is that correct? What function does the tent provide then? Would not a piece of plastic over the doorway give you the same thing?

Beucase I think throwing some plants and a few lights in a closet looks tacky. And it probably wont perform as well.

Another reason is becuase one of the closet doors is off the hinge and doesnt close all the way. Fixable? Not unless i buy a whole new closet door.

It also has to be somewhat stealth. And this tent can probably pass as a wardrobe if not inspected too much.

So does anyone have any real input on these tents? I read through a whole thread talking about how HTG is complete shit and other tent companies have tents that will kill your plants. I beleive it but I cant justify paying anything over $200 for a chinese tent.

do you guys just think im an asshole? if there is any way to get a clonebox large from homebox in there then do it, if not get the regular sized clonebox, i believe it is bigger then the one your looking at or the same size. you have someone who has expereinced a few different brands of tents here and so far homeboxes are this shit. i have not messed with one of those big assr oom tents yet though. the secret jardin look sweet too. but i know homebox. that my last 2 c and im broke. good luck to you my friend. peace and smoke.

you have options with that much height in terms of growing style. THink about doing Coco beds if you have the time. you can get a 20x27x6 and 24x36x8 tray at lowes in the concrete section for 5 and 8-10 respectively.
You could also build one out of pondliners. I'd do a coco bed and sog it after vegging a couple weeds. thats only if it was all clones off 1 plant though.

Haps, the point of me getting a tent/box is so i DONT have to have lights hanging in my closet.

i go with the tents because they come down quick, good choice on building a box instead. that is what i used to do and always had good success. good luck on your journey.
