Question about smoking a plant after using Silver Thiosfulate

I am using a product from CBGY Scientific called Silver Thiosfulate for reversing a female to get pollen.

The product info warns about smoking any plant that was sprayed with this product.

I am only using it on one bud each on 3 different plants. Am I ruining the entire plants as far as smoking it later?

I'm not sure if they are warning against smoking this solvent and any buds that are directly sprayed with it. Or, if the entire plant is actually tainted by using this stuff.

Thanks

I wouldn't risk smoking it. While doing sts experiments and when there is an amount of female parts containing resin this material only goes into ice o lator hash. That way only the resin is being used and the sts crystals get a chance to get dissolved in the water and washed away.

Yeaaaah... this is why I strongly encourage using clones. It's too tempting having all that cannabis and not being able to smoke it. Using clones also allows you to properly collect, dry and store the pollen in a freezer for insta-use when you need it most. ;)

You can physically see where the STS has traveled in the plant. Anywhere STS is present you will see reduced pistil formation. More STS = less pistil growth. The question becomes whether the sodium thiosulfate separates from the silver, because only the silver has the final effect on ethylene production. If I knew there wasn't any thiosulfate in the plant I'd smoke it. Since it's impossible to know without testing I do not recommend it.

I'd like to know the changes thiosulfate goes through when heated. It's history as a medicine extends back to the 30's, and I wonder how the heating would change this.

Thanks gang. I had a few other issues with this crop so I turned it into strictly a breeding thing. I hope to shotgun the plants and get a zillion seeds... even if zero of it is smokable. Besides, I developed a bug issue and I won't smoke pot with bugs anyway. So, I will spray 3 or 4 flower sites on each plant. Sound right?

I am going to follow the suppliers instructions of once every 5 days for 4 weeks (or so, depending on growth). From the posts in this thread that may sound like a lot but maybe this mix is weaker or something.

We shall see.

The 3 strains I am reversing are Super Silver Haze, Amnesia Ryder and Trainwreck. All autos. Not by any real choice. They just happened to be next in line. If this works, I have some nice Afghan Autos that I want to seed. This time is really just an experiment.

Thanks again.
