Im doing an outside grow and would really like to make a thread and post pictures as I take them.

Scared to though because I dont know exactly what the "law" are capable of as far as this subject goes.

I have a cable modem.

Any info on the topic would be wonderful.

P.S. The pictures wouldnt give anything away geographically.

if "they" care, they already know who you are, where you live, where the crop will be, and what you had for breakfast.

worried yet?

Let me try to make it more to the point.

My grow is less than 50 plants. Outdoors NOT on my property.

But I'm worried or atleast wondering if DEA moniter this website and actively pursue leads. Such as IP address for home address, and things like that.

I dont have any type of proxy or whatever to hide my stuff.

**edit** What is exif data? And how do I delete it?

My understanding is that the servers for this website are located in Europe so for any LEO to get IP addresses or anything of the like they would be going through a shit load of trouble to get it. EXIF data is info that your camera stores into the picture file, sometimes containing things like the serial number of your camera. You can use a program such as irfanview to delete this information.

also note that vista has a tool to strip the images of exif data.

Properties > Details > Remove Properties and Personal Information ... then select the things you want to delete or just delete all...

Just quoting my answer on another related thread, maybe it helps you.

that was exactly the type of info I was looking for!

Here is a little program (freeware) that will take off the exif data, just drag the files onto the window and its done, quick like.

not to hijack the thread...but.. in Windows Vista if you right click a photo, bring up properties, pick the details tab.. you can "remove properties and personal information".. ..no need for a utility

Hey AB,

most of us aren't worth the effort to track down quite frankly. If you are, then you may want to think twice, but if you are like the rest of us here, then post in peace.
