ok so i know that on a 18-6 cycle plants will preflower, and i have a plant that is showing female preflowers on that cycle. i also have the same age plant showing preflowers on a 24 hr photo period. is this normal? both plants have been out of the soil for 37 days exactly. is that a normal time to start showing preflowers... i havent had this happen with any of my grows yet. normally the males and herms show first... this time two beautiful females have. i am just confused and a little concerned if anyone can help please do throw some advice my way.

this is the 18-6 plant that is showing female.

The plant will show preflowers when they near vegging maturity. For most strains this should be around 40 days....

Around that period of time. When a plant reaches veg maturity, its next step is to breed and reproduce. They will still have the preflowers under 24/0, they just wont flower unless they are an autoflower strain....

I'm surprised the 24/0 plant didnt show pistils first,it would have been the most mature.Preflowers have to do with maturity, not photoperiod.A plant isnt liklier to preflower because it gets some dark hours,on the contrary it should mature faster and show preflowers sooner. Not all strains/pheno's will show preflowers in veg no matter what veg photoperiod or how long you veg, they just wont show until you change photoperiods to 12/12.I've found this to be more exception than rule though, with a good pair of magnifying glasses, you can normally sex a vegging plant at 4-5 weeks.
