Question about papers

First of all, i'd like to say hello to all you guys, this is my first post here ... been reading this forum for a while now and i like it. :D

Anyway, i've got a question about the thickness ant weight of some papers:
blue package means that they are thin right? So Rizla k/s Blue, Zig-Zag k/s Blue, OCB k/s Blue, Smoking Blue are basicly about the same thickness and comparable with each other?

tnx :joint:

Silver and black are generally the finest papers but that's not always the case. Your really better of just holding one up to the light and seeing if it's too your taste. good lightweight papers are smoking black, rizla silver, if you can handle the smallness though rizla seem to me to be a bit strong on taste. OCB are a great range too.

Also, welcome to our community, were not perfect but we do try to be accomodating and helpful. Feel free to enjoy.

The thinnest papers I have found so far have got to be Elements. Real thin and taste is not really an issue. They are a tad slick, you will understand when you get your hands on them, but not so much it makes it hard to roll. They just have a different feel to them.
They also come in a roll, which I love.

Slick papers can be countered by rubbing your fingertips behind your ears. Sounds stupid but oil from the skin collects there and while not tainting the paper it does make for an easier time rolling.

I'm assuming you clean your ears regularly of course ! :)

Have not heard of elements before. Are they a US based product or worldwide? Personally i'm a smoking blacks man with the occasion dip into OCB but i'll try anything once.

Thanx, that's nice advices on the thinnest avalible papers ... but i'm interested in comparison of the "blue range" papers (Rizla k/s Blue, Zig-Zag k/s Blue, OCB k/s Blue, Smoking k/s Blue, ..) if they are pretty much the same thing as far as thickness and quality goes.

I myself love a nice joint in thin thin super thin rice paper...or just plain old thin paper i dont care as long as its see thru(not the clear wraps i actually dont like them)....

the only papers ill smoke thru :

Raw(http://rollingsupreme.com/Products/Rolling_Papers/Raw/) - unbleached all natural with gum

Rizzla - Silver packet, called "ultra thin" or something(very good paper) with gum

Smoking papers from spain - black packet with red lettering (very nice paper) w/ gum

my fave old school paper is SD Modiano - Club Cabaret(belgian), very thin almost no ash and NO GUM!!!! (the trick is to get the double wide and rip the leaf in half to roll a joint from each rippped half(thefibers stick to themself from the rippped side like glue!))

Elements are decent they have gum

and theres a new paper from spain called fire fly(rice paper @ 1.0my current fave ..i have the reg size and the KING size! great for guests)

I'd like to add that these are Rice Papers. I love them btw, to me they have a less harsh taste than traditional papers, and they burn well also.

Yeah, they are rice.....forgot to say that. Ha, thanks n_g.
Dogboy, I am not sure if they are just US or what. I have never tried to buy papers in another country as of yet! They are in a blue package with some flames on it, maybe some other stuff too. And thanks for the tip, that is interesting. Next time I have trouble holding on to the paper, I will give that a try!

Blues are horrid for me so i dont smoke them. I find they are too heavy and have a nasty taste still. Cant help with them i'm afraid other than to say that Rizla Blues are too big to be useful in rolling anything other than giant cones. Even the OCB which are usually a great paper are quite heavy.

I'm a big fan of Smoking Eco, the hemp ones - favourite papers by far.

In a pinch though, rizla silvers are always available in slim kingsize.

you are right old pink, they are the same.
i just used to smoke the black ones, then moved to silver and now have gold ones (store had no silvers). so i didn't even remember how wide blacks were... just rememberd i liked them :)
all got messed up he he

anyway: smoking papers are quality papers and i stick to them. the silver ones are a tiny bit thinner and slimmer than the gold 13g as opposed to 14g.

cheers!

Are Eco the gold ones or are they a seperate line? the hemp ones that is. The package is a tan/gold sort of colour but i'm not sure.

Ahh ok, cheers for that.

I wish Smoking papers were easier to find here, headshops etc tend to have a small selection but i'd love to be able to get a packet from the newsagent, supermarket etc when I need them. Rizla blue and silver are pretty much all they sell when it comes to joint skins :)
