Question About Nutes.

I haave been behind the scenes for a while now.
My question is(hopefully the post goes thru):
GH and AN both have the 3 part system, and supplements and so-on...
I seen some test on youtube, eventho i feel as if it was an advertisment. To my surprise I noticed Groing with General Hydroponics produces buds with a much lower THC percentage.
From your experiences do you believe GH produces buds that are much inferior quality oppose to Advanced Nutes?
If so do you guys believe PureBlend Pro is better then GH as far as bud quality?

I have no experience with Advanced Nutrients. I can tell you that I use Pure Blend Pro and it grows AMAZING herb. I'm sure other nutrients are the same or better. But I can vouch for PBP and Foxfarm.... Good stuff.
Make sure you grab some superthrive too. It's good stuff.

When it comes to QUALITY though, I would say this depends GREATLY on genetics... All you can do is give it the BEST envoronment to THRIVE in. Humidity, temp., light. You know. The stuff weed likes!

I have never used AN or GH, so I can only comment on PbP. I use PbP I cant tell how much of a difference it made it my grows

As for quality of buds, I am sure nutes will make a bit of difference, but not as much as the strain itself, genetics would be the main factor in that

nutrients are nutrients....if you think one results in less thc in the final product you are strongly mistaken...misuse of them will but properly used you will get the same results

Well, there is actually 3 types of nitrogen: Nitrate, ammonia, and urea.

In potting soils, you don't want more than 40% of your nitrogen type to be urea or ammonia. It's toxic to plants and especially seedlings in large amounts.

In soils outdoors, some ammonia and urea is converted to nitrate nitrogen by soil organisms. These organisms are less frequently occuring in potting soils.

The advantage to ammonia and urea outdoors is that it does not leach easily from rain for example like nitrate so it hangs around longer after an application.

So, nitrate nitrogen definately grows a better more compact plant but 10% ammonia/urea added to your nutrient solution will benefit the uptake of nitrate nitrogen possibly by saving energy.

Take home message...check your fertilizer label for type of nitrogen used and the % of the total.

wow, thanks for the answers. I understand misuse will cause a bad outcome. Now what they say for AN is it is specially made just for weed, unlike the rest which are general purpose.
With all the different add-ons costing hundreds of dollars, if anyone can come here and tell me that AN will definetly give me much better buds then i cant say no. but im not going to buy into ther ads.

I already have the flora line (micro, gro, bloom) and some kool-bloom, I was planning on adding liquid karma to this.

Would anyone advise me to take this route, or just cough up a couple bucks and get pbp?

I can get the 3 part Advanced Nutrients system 1 quarts, and a free tri pack blood, carbo and some other one for 40 bucks shipped, so i definately want to try the nutes in soil because i dont want to eff these up in hydro.

I want to make my own soil mix, which is a good mixture for these hydro nutes?

Right now i have 2 parts general potting soil, 1 part perlite, 1 part vermiculite. Any way to use this mixture? which would be better?

correct me if im wrong, i believe you should use half of wht they say on the bottle for soil. And use it every other watering. alternate plain water, with nutes.

I will be using promix hp. in the past had great experience with it!

anyone out there at all use GH and AN that can tell me quality wise if AN is worth the extra 200-300 dollars?
