question about mothers plants

Ive had my mother plants growing(in a closet that's about 3.5-4 feet in height for about 6 months now, I've cut clones from them 2x now, only problem is they are getting too tall for the room they are in, I just topped all of them to make some room, but this will sustain for maybe another 2 months. Should I just toss them and start with new mothers from the clones I took, or should I just keep topping them and keep trimming them so they are able to fit in the room.

Also have you tried putting mother plants that are about 9 months old to flower? I was thinking of just disposing of them after 9-12 months.

It's up to you, if you keep them too long you may find their stems become very woody... If it was me I would start over from new clones!

I would start new mothers from clone's and keep them as bonsai mums that are less than a foot high rather than keeping 4 ft monster mothers :)

ok that's what ill do, Ill wait till the cuttings have good roots before I get rid of the current mothers. How do you keep them so small, just keep topping them often?

4 foot mothers! you gotta lotta room. HAHA!!!
Take clones at or around the time you switch to bloom, in the lets say 11 weeks they will take to get to harvest, the clones whould have rooted and been potted and ready for your next grow period, take clones at or arund bloom, etc..

I am beginning to think that flowering my mothers would
make for one interesting crop. They are not 4' but they
are 3' and were topped hard when I took clones for my
current crop. So, they are very dense already.

I will either do that, or I will just try cutting them down hard,
with backup clones taken if the process goes sideways.

Good luck OP.
