Question about minisplit AC

I live in a area that usually gets 110+ in the summer, and i end up spending as much to run my window AC's as i do running my lights. My question is, would a minisplit be more efficient since i would be cooling inside air with a temp around 80 instead of cooling the 110+ outside air? I would be exhausting air with a filter and inline fan for humidity control.

A window unit doesn't cool the outside air and bring it in. The filter that you are suppose to clean once a week or bi-weekly is the intake on the window unit.

Mini splits are more energy efficient than window units and a lot quieter. In my opinion the air movers are far superior the the little renki dink fan that is on a window unit. Plus you can move put the air mover where you want it. You won't be limited to just the window.

There are a lot of good videos on YouTube on how to install. If you are going to install yourself keep in mind you are going to need a vacuum pump and gauges or know an a/c guy that has them.

Exhausting the air really doesn't do much to control humidity. For that you need a dehumidifier.
An Inverter mini split is infinitely more efficient than a window unit, and as long as it's properly sized for the number of Watts and room size you'll have no problem cooling no matter how hot outside. I'm in Florida and know a thing or two about heat/humidity ;)
Btw, any type of AC (window, mini split etc) will dehumidify as long as it's cooling. The hotter it is outside the lower the humidity gets from the AC. However when the lights are off theirs no heat signal telling the AC to start cooling, so the humidity will spike severely. A dehumidifier will solve that. Also, because a dehumidifier puts out heat it will cause the AC to start cooling, which will further help dehumidify. In my room, at night, the two cycle back/forth all night.
Sorry for the long post :tiphat:
