question about light cycles

I just put my plants from 24 hours of light into 18/6, using 12pm-6 as my dark cycle.

With a bit more thought, 10-4 works a bit better.

Having them on the 12-6 schedule for a few days, would it hurt them at all to switch to another (10-4)?


I am planning on switching to 12/12 in a few days anyway, so its not a big deal either way. Just curious for the future.

I'd think, as long as they are getting at least 18 hours straight of light it shouldnt matter?

Better to favor the night period. Next time the lights come on, pull the ON pin from the timer. After they've had a full night's sleep, pick a new sunrise, open the cab, reinsert the ON pin to it's new time and adjust the OFF pin accordingly.

A one time glitch will do no harm.
