Question about growing Grand Daddy Purple and Romulan

These are my two strands of clones i've decided to grow for my first time. They're almost 4 weeks along and looking beautiful. They had a little trouble at the start but i think i have the solution at the right level and the plant is well supplied with light and nutrients. I thought i might ask if anyone had any special suggestions for strands like GDP and romulan because i know their similarities to other strands...for ex that GDP is a mix of big bud and purple urkle. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

They look nice...both VERY good strains you should be very happy.

I really think it's irrelevant what people have to say about nutrient needs of a plant. I think it has more to do with growing conditions than the strain. Heat/C02/rez temps/lighting all play a role in how much nutrient the plant can take and what's optimal.

As for light...the rule is the same for all plants...the more the better.

Looks like you could use a lot more light...Are you planning on switching to an HPS for flowering? Two flouros really won't get you anything.

Luck...

I'm very interested in Romulan info aswell.. I was recently gifted about 40-50 pure Romulan seeds, and a select Romulan cut that's been the keeper for Rom that's been grown for years in my area.

The cuts I got have Phatastic leaves, only the Sweet Tooth #3, LUI, and Deep Chunk even come close in leaf size.. Actualy I also have plain AE-77 Cali O, and a AE Calio x Romulan cut.. The AE leaves are tiny, but the cross with Romulan made the leaves almost as big as the pure Romulan, so Rom must be a fairly dominant strain in crosses.

Anyways, I've heard lots of good things about it, and I can't wait to watch you grow it. My cuts are rooting right now so I won't be flowering for a lil while yet.

GDP is one I should be trying soon, sounds like a one of the better purple elites for sure. Both of your clones look great, but like Ogstradamus, I hope you'll be giving them all the HID love they realy deserve.. Floros will still grow some decent bud, but you don't get to see the full potential of the strain. Regardless of what you do they're looking very healthy now.

good luck.

there is a 150watt hps in there now and supplimental cfl lighting. In 3 weeks a 400watt hps will be added. Just switched to flowering with ~350-400 ppm GH floranova Bloom and 225ppm KoolBLoom. tried streching them a bit by tying the branches aside.

That's the original description for the seeds Federation made. I believe the clones that circulate are keep phenos.

There still are original Rom seeds out there, but they are quite rare.

Oh and to answer your question orange kush, they were 10 dollars each clone, i'm pretty sure they are pure breeds because northern california and this club are very well known for their romulan and grand daddy purple strands. I am very excited for harvest...almost 5 weeks into flowering so i expect 3-4 weeks left...

There really are no true Romulan seeds as Romulan is a clone. Every Romulan in seed form is actually Romulan X White Widow with many, many BCs back to the Romulan (Joe) cutting... far too many BCs IMO.

Hope yours turn out nice as I've heard that there are some nice keepers in the "Romulan", seed stock, sadly I didn't find one though mine came from Next Generation.
