Hey guys! I plan on feeding my girlies their last fert feeding tonight and then tommorow or the day after switchin them up to 12/12. Should I transplant them with some new soil when I do this? I will be using different ferts in flower too thats why I thought this might be needed? Let me know guys! Thanks and toke on! :joint:

If you are using a soilless medium, you should flush your plants before switching to 12/12. How big are the containers you are using now? and what do you want to transplant into? If you do transplant... flush the plant, translplant it, and give it a few days to grab the new soil... Good Luck.

You need to know that you will still need to give them an N fert even though you are going into 12/12. I give a high N and P fert for the first 4 weeks or so and then just go to the high P. I am not sure why you would want to flush them unless you are having a PH or salt build up problem.........

Agreed!!
If you are in undersized pots then transplant. But, I'd give them a few days to a week to adjust to the new digs before going 12/12.
Show us some pics of what you are growing in if you can & how much of a grow area you have.
Good luck.

Hey guys! Thanks for the replies! Heres a pic just to show you the pots there in now!

This is the grow room!

I will be doing it in about 5 days now I decided I wanted them bigger! I'm wondering if I should transplant right before the switch to 12/12 or a day or so before the 12/12? Also The first feeding for the 12/12 cycle should I water with my FF big bloom/tiger bloom mix? Or just one of them? Or should I just water with plain water? Also What size pots do you suggest I use for flowering? Thanks for the help so far hope these pics help you give me some more advice! Thanks!

I would say switch a little before flower - Let the plant adjust to the new pot.

I water with Flower nutes right away. I think it's a good idea.

I would use 3-5 gallon at least for flowering. I don't think your plants are big enough to need to be transplanted. You want to transplant when the roots have filled the pot, but before they get rootbound. A good rule of thumb is the root ball should be roughly the same size as the plant. (in soil)

You might consider letting the plants get a little bigger, or at least until the plant is mature. I think you have less hermie problems this way. Just my .02

That's possible. I have heard it's better to step down from 24 to 12.

But 18/6 won't trigger flowering, and some use 18/6 all through veg so I'm not sure why.

Less stress on plant or slowing down veg state?

Maybe an hour less of light every day would work - 24/0,23/1,22/3, etc. That would take about 12 days to get from 24 to 12.

I've also heard you can go from 24/0 to a period of full dark for 24 hours.

When I went into flower recently from bagseed, I went directly from 24/0 to 12/12.

I had 2 females, 2 males, one hermie.

The hermie was barely a hermie - maybe 1 male flower for every 10 female, so it may have been genetic and not because of the light change.

BUT

I don't think your plants are ready for transplant or flowering yet.

If height is an issue, think about trimming, FIM, LST, etc.

My plants are much older than yours and 30 days into flower, but about the same height. And I have about 15 grow tips.

yea, that thing is still a baby.... early flower isn't bad it is just falling short of the plant's potential... listen to twist if height is an option (I recommend LST, cutting just seems too stressful)

So I should turn to 18/6 you think before flower or no? Give me the answers experts I dont want any hermies! Thank you all!

Just go 18/6 for a week then go 12/12 I believe going from 24/0 to 12/12 may cause undo stress.

leave light the same, veg until pot is rooted transplant and let the plant go a week in it's new home then induce flowering by switching to 12/12, u can do it all at once no need to stair step lighting, but transplant before floweing to redunce hermie chances

this is what BOG reccommended, i feel the question is answered

Usin 400watt HPS for the last week of flowering(Had something go wrong with veg cab and had to throw them under the HPS for the remainder of time!) Anyways I switched em up to 18/6 and after one night cycle for them they shot up like crazy! Does anybody have a pic to show me how bit a 2-3 gal. pot is?
