Hey,

I was wondering do you guys follow the grow chart/feeding instructions on your product label? or do you do your own thing?

thanks

Dosages on label are an indication. I have to know what the plant wants considering my setup.
For example, if I use 400W x m2 I'm going to feed less than if I grow with 600W x m2. Some strains requires more and some less etc...

Definitely, I do my own things, often mixing various brands/products ;)

Always start slow I burned a few of mine when I gave it the recommended dosage. always feed like 1/4 and check the ec etc then add more if the plant needs.
Im at 1.0-1.2 in veg now not higher.

I mix also the diferent brands. give ionic grow, cal-mag and every 3rd day 2-3ml of liquid oxygen. growing in aeroponic

Its a good place to start. Depending on what medium you are growing in plants will react and its easy to figure it out from there.

I agree, it is a good place to start. If the plant is yellow feed more, if the plant is intensely blue green, especially around the edges than feed less. Always stay proactive with feeding.

CoastalKind: I have been feeding mines and are in 1st week of flowering. some lower leaves turned yellow and fell off I have 2 plants however wher I found a few top leaves being burned on the edges with a yellowish brownish colour. I have the circulating fan closest to these 2 plants could it be the fan or is it nute burn?

It's hard to say without a picture but yellowish turning into brown and dieing sounds like an advanced nutrient deficiency. Nitrogen burns usually are precipitated with dark green growth around the leaf edges, leaves curling downward then everything getting fired and stunted, phosphorus and potassium burns look like you cooked you plant alive. It could be wind burn but again its almost impossible to say without a picture. Look up some picture of different nutrient burns, its easier to diagnose a burn that a deficiency. Its' normal for some of the lower leaves to turn yellow and die as the plant gets older. The plant is basically saying "this leaf isn't as worth it any more, it did its job and now the other leaves are in its way." so it eats the nitrogen from the leaf and lets it go. if that happen too soon though or on a plant where the leaf is clearly getting direct light then that is a sure sign of a nutrient deficiency, likely nitrogen, but that's not a guarantee.

Edit. phosphorus burn looks like you cooked your plant alive, excessive potassium looks like micro nutrient deficiency because it inhibits micro nutrient uptake.

Thanks for the info. well Im feeding it correctly and EC is between 750ppm to 840 ppm 1st week of bloom should I go higher? Im gonna feed it Big Bud today it says feed week 2 through week 4 on the bottle.

Some charts are OK, some are awful.
I always adjust the amounts but I do use the relative dosage between the products as guidelines, for example if a biobizz chart says I should put 5ml BioGrow and 2ml BioBloom, which I believe is way too much, I would start with 2ml BioGrow and 0.8ml BioBloom.

When you introduce plants (any plants) to a new fertilizers you should always start with quarter of the dosage and build your way up.
Just like with light - you don't want to burn your plants by changing their parameters too quickly. They need time to adjust.
