You are not supposed to have any light in flowering, because it can turn the plants into the vegetative state, and may cause stress, males or hermys correct?
Well, in nature, what happens if theres a full moon out?
Wouldnt this light mess with the plants?
Im sure the plants register the lumens from the full moon, and register it as the dark cycle, it must havve a threshold thus registers the moon is out but its still the dark cycle. if you replicated the lumens from a full moon inside through the dark cycle im sure you'll get the same result (happily sleeping cannabis plants).
The moon isn't bright enough. The sun gives off around 10,000 footcandles and the moon is only 0.2. Plus the moon isn't as heavy in the red and far red light which phytochrome is sensitive to, so there is no reaction.
An exceptionally bright full moon, when growing outdoors, can delay flowering by a couple of weeks, but once plants have started flowering outside, another full moon won't do anything. It usually isn't bright enough to have a noticeable impact.
I usually get a bit of light in my indoor grow as well. Its not 100% proof.
I'd say its 99% proof.
The rule of thumb is that if you walk into a grow room in the dark cycle you shouldn't be able to see your hand if lay it in front if you.
There are always some minor light leaks. Well, almost always.
The plant can get over that, it evolved to its current state when there was a moon light above so I believe it should bother it.
