I've been waiting for it to cool off down here because I flower from 6am to 6 pm but its just not happening.I switched photoperiods to 6 pm to 6 am a couple days ago with about 10 days left until harvest.I hate "working" in the pm hours so my last 3 or 4 times watering I'll be interrupting the dark hours to water,it takes 2 or 3 hours normally.Any chance of throwing banannas this late in the game?Thanks

You should be good, i wanna know how you made the transition in the dark period , i'm guessing 24 hrs of dark? i personally dont think ten days is enough time for bananna's to form, open, and actually polinate before the yank i could be wrong, any one else?

Like Builtaforest said, you're most likely to see nanners near the end, especially when playing games with the light cycle. On the other side of the coin, being this close to the finish the pollen doesn't really have time to do anything.
Yes I did 24 hours dark and started 6 pm to 6 am yesterday,I guess I'll just water after six its only maybe 4 waterings 12 days or so.I wonder if it would really happen though,the nanners.Thank you Huarmiquilla I agree always extent the dark hours when changing photoperiods.It is the interrupting of dark hours with an HID for an hour or more for several days that will possibly cause a environmental hermie,but as I said before its not always as easy as people think to create an environmental herm that was 100% female to start of course

In my experience, as long as you give them an extended period of dark and don't interrupt that phase of the photoperiod, you will neither see hermaphroditism nor will you see any kind of revegetative growth.

No I've trained a puppet to use a pippet,probably my downfall..I just watered having the incandescent on for approx 2 hours or so,I was curious as to what people think.I've always felt genetic herms make up the great majority of herms as opposed to environmental herms being the problem.Maybe 75% genetic and 25% environmental,or close to that.I've been able to force hermies but not as easily as I had thought.Anyway thanks for everyones input I'll let you know if I see any male parts in 10 days or so.I know there arent any now as there are only 11 plants and I've been over them thoroughly,if it happens it'll be in the last 10 days or s
, and it takes a couple hours to saturate the soil 100% in the 11 plants in five gallon pots GMT.It would have went a lot faster going from 2 gal to 3 gallon instead of 5 gallon but for seedplants I go with 5 gallon.Clones I normally finish in three gallon.I dont just pour the soil through I use 1 gallon split among 4 plants in 5 gallon containers,that way they get a quarter gallon at a time and it saturates slowly and evenly

Yes a little extra dark now and then I think will not harm the plants. I have had to switch my times like that and opt to extend the dark.
I think yer all right, move quick.
Skip a watering if you are real worried, or get green light bulbs!
