Quest vs Mitsubishi Dehumidifier?

Hi, Quest 70 dehumidifiers run @ 680W and remove 26L a day whereas mitsubishi dehumidifiers run at 275W and remove 16L a day not to mention that they are less than half the price so why is everyone using quest? They claim to be the most energy efficient but unless I am missing something they clearly are not! Check out this mitsubishi

would the mitsubishi be a better size for a 4' x 12' room? Is a quest 70 overkill? Thanks!

If you look at the ratings you'll see that the mitsubishi is rated for that amount of dehumidification in a room that is 86 degrees and 80% RH. The quest is rated based on 80 degrees and 60% RH. The more humidity, the easier it is to pull. The efficiency is similar based on stated ratings, but in equal conditions the quest probably performs more efficiently. Then beyond that, I expect the quest to be better built and last longer, since it has a 5 year warranty.

For a room your size, i'd think the mitsubishi would be fine. That of course depends on any airflow, pot size, amount of water used, etc.

Thank you so much for your reply! I could be tripping but I thought I remembered there being many more active users on this site many years ago.. where did everyone go? Thanks again!

4x12 is 4.32 so maybe 3 meters of flower space? That could be drinking 20L in 12 hours.

Most dehumidifiers are going to use a typical fridge motor. With typical fridge motor efficiency. Newer designs could use an EC motor for variable drive capability, but I have not seen it. This means the power consumption is the best number to compare these by. If you want a direct comparison.

It's interesting you say 26L when their website says 33L. What's even more interesting than that, it that the '70' in the product name means 70 pints. Which is 40L
26 or 40. I will take 33 as it's an SI unit. So around 16L in that 12 hours of lights on. 5L per meter. You won't want the smaller dehu~ if it's sealed. Though you might want both.
