Quantum Blitz Wifi Ballast?

Hey all,

I know DE is all the rage and seems to be performing amazingly, but..

Has anyone seen this thing in person yet?
Quantum electronic ballast with wifi capabilities?

I wonder what sort of capabilities the wifi gives you. Dimming control from phone app and on/off control?

Not sure if these are out yet, was just browsing hydrofarms site and stumbled across it.
I see they got a selection of DE's too, various options like open hood or more directly downwards.. is this stuff any good or is Gavita still the go-to for top performance. I know this DE thing is taking off and after Gavita and Epap launched it seems they are popping up a dime a dozen lately.

Anyways, never seen these before..

Interesting that you posted this up.. I have all quantum ballasts... I wonder if hydrofarm bought them out because they were owned by cap originally and cap went under..my store of choice said that they couldn't warranty any more quantum ballasts. I have one that is crapped out right now. Originally I was gonna say don't support quantum because of the potential warranty issue.. I would go with de unless your thinking of using it with very growing..nanokux has some cloud based control system that looks pretty sweet. If your looking for remote control I would look into nanlux

Hey HL,

Hydrofarm did buy CAP along with a few other lines of products when R&M Supply went under.

If the date on your Quantum till indicates it's in warranty I do believe Hydrofarm is warranting them. Maybe it's on a case by case basis, but my buddy had a shop swap two of them for him through Hydrofarm RMA process. Guess it all depends on if the shop is willing to try for you... That said, these things are getting so cheap I'm not sure it's worth the aggravation for both the user and the shop having to do the return. I just bought a new one when my Lumatek failed.. apparently hydrofarm doesn't deal with them anymore so I'd have to go through the manufacturer. The shop I go to now has budget ballasts now that look identical to quantums only green (ultragrow). We've got 8 1k total so far of them and so far so good. They got a 5 year warranty instead of the 3yr. I was a little hesitant at 1st because we've had some quantums fail and these appear to be damn near identical.. but no issues so far.

Sometimes these things depend on the type of shop you visit. If they do big business themselves with these main distributors so can typically get credit, even in sometimes they're not technically covered.

I really want to play with some DEs... need a new bigger space.
