Quantity v/s Quality

Max Yields

Active member
Quality always first & foremost. If someone isn't shooting for quality first, then quantity, I feel it kinda messes with the whole process of growing & everything. Whether growing for personal use or distribution, quality should be first priority & foremost. Once the steps are taken to fulfill this, then one can think of quantity. You will then have quantity of quality. Shoot for quality first & the rest better falls into place.

so, how do you get quantity and not go for quality?

(since happier plants = big plants)

As an old construction contractor, I have always believed it best to straddle the line between production and perfection.

Everything is a compromise.

the object for me is to find quality that pumps out quanity only 2 ways for that

1 - grow from seed take cuts of the girls mark cuts from what plant flower out the seed plants, see what produces the best and most run with it untill a better comes along

2 - get quality/quanity producers in clone form

most newer growers dont see the full potenitial in the plant from just 1 run it takes a few
to learn the plants requirements. also grow enviroment lighting and nutrients play a major factor

personally i like a buffet of flavors the are quality producers which over the yrs i've amassed

Where the hell did you dig up this little nugget of wisdom Einstein? I wonder if he uses flies under his dome too?

For your information, I read few article even they had the same information in it. I feel, its just the myth of the people and i really feel sorry to say that you can change it until they are having a good quality yield.

quality is always first .i cant count how many strains i have culled because they werent potent enough even if yield was good

Well, the first (basically content-free) post was just an excuse for the OP to post some spam links, lol. No small wonder there's not much wisdom there :D

I strive for both .... quality first then quantity . a strain could give me pounds per plant but if its not worth smokin ... then its discarded . & whats wrong with being in it for the money if its a quality product your selling ? If a strain doesn't meet my standards , its made into hash .. if its still no good or low quality .... its given away or trashed . i'm not pushin garbage & i have people waiting for harvest cuz they want nothing else . so i must be doing something right :)

new strains are run in a seperate room till its decided whether they make the cut or not . if they do ... i take the best one for a mom & run it at will .

Oooooooh, the abrasive feeling of this thread unnerves me a bit. I must say though, it sounds like mariematt has been dissatisfied with that shit brick weed you've been smoking. That's fine. Please, just grow your own however you like and avoid all-encompassing statements telling everyone else how they should be, dig? If I want to grow a billion pounds of dirt weed, that's MY business. Wag your finger at yourself in the mirror if you'd like, but please, don't stand on the soapbox when you talk to me. Peace.

For me quality is #1.

I do have a certain expectation of yield tho, a plant that yields like total shit will get tossed no matter how good it is. I think it is entirely possible to have both, that's what I shoot for.

I've seen plants that yield big but the quality still looks like ass because the grower sucked, or are just crappy genetics that yield big, like big bud.

hey Scrappy, i got a ? how did ur t5 grow end up, ex. potency, flavor, weight? your reply would be greatly appreciated, sorry for jumping off topic guys, this is the only way for me to ask my question since i cannot pm anyone yet

Prove the two are mutually exclusive. For the most part healthy plants are what provide both. I reject your whole premise.

Now if you are saying pick the very best genetics for quality regardless of yield that is one thing. Still, I would say very best genetics is a very, very subjective thing.

Hey Ganjaking. The T5 grow went very well. The light was a 2x4 Badboy T5, so 8 square feet of light. I averaged 1.5 zips per square foot. Some more, some less depending on the strain. The biggest yielding plant gave me 2 zips per square foot. That's would be 16 zips total for a 440 watt T5 if dialed in.

As far as potency and flavor, nobody could tell the difference they thought the herb was superb. Although personally I think it turns out nicer with my hps.

Scrappy-doo, That's some great weight for a t5, You did really good from the looks of your pic's, looked like some Rope, I think i will just get me a hps/mh 600w setup untill i get a few grows under my belt, i know my 2x4 t5 makes my O.G Veg. very very nice :) i dont know i might have to do a side by side exp. with the same strain...

"Quantity has a quality all its own."

Would you rather have a nickle bag of primo shit or 50 lbs of mediocre doobage?

Personally I like a quantity of quality :)
