PVC Pond Liner

So I recently purchased a pvc pond liner to cover a carpeted room. Is this the same shit that causes off-gassing in the old white tents?
Would I be able to get away with just using fluorescents?

Anybody have any experience with these??

Thanks!

my buddy lined his whole floor with the shit but it was pretty heavy duty stuff i wouldnt compare it to tent material. what is the thickness and brand? he got 10k in the room and no offgassing if ur linin a room with nethiing to grow with floros seems not worth all the work ur gonna put in.

Just to be pedantic, it was the phthalate plasticizers in the PVC tents causing problems.

I have a (discontinued) Lowes PVC pond liner I'll be using on the floor after I rip out the old carpet. The plastic doesn't stink so it must be OK (laugh).
Inside of a tent, I would use EPDM in a closed environment.

I've run Home Depot pondliner in both veg and flower rooms for over 2 years without a problem.

Mine is currently covered in the same thing. No issues at all. I just recently had mine up to do some work in my room, and no sign of mold or water issues.

They come in a bunch of different sizes and are fairly reasonably priced for how heavy they are.

great way to ruin the carpet...the pond liner will sweat in a humid room causing carpet to mold...

Care to elaborate? What was under the carpet and what were the conditions?

Only way I can really see this happening is if you are on a slab or a very poorly insulated crawl. In any normal circumstance there shouldn't be any chance for condensation to form.

Thanks to everyone that replied. I appreciate all of your help.
The pond liner is a Sunterra 14 ft by 14 ft bought off amazon.
Seems like it wont be a problem so i'll give it a go and see what happens!

HDPE is commonly used as a damp proof membrane (DPM sheet) and so comes in room sized packs, as it's a room floor it's for.

You can buy the same for ponds but you will pay a crazy markup and won't get the full range of gauges available. You just get your pants pulled down.

To fix it in place, first apply a square of gaffer tape to the sheet. Staple through that square and the sheet to fix it in place. The weave in the tape stops the sheet just ripping off the staple. A second piece of tape over the top will leave it a bit more weather-proof if you must staple somewhere that effects your drip trays usefulness.
