PVC Pipe Drippers

Does anyone have expierence making drippers with just holes drilled into PVC? It would be very cost effective for my coco beds -- I've seen a detailed grow log with someone using them but I can't seem to find it anymore!

I use pvc manifolds with holes drilled, grommets inserted and 1/4" tubing going to plants.

Your setup looks really nice and easy but the grommets and tubing are overkill because I don't need to place drippers in individual pots, I just need to soak the coco in the beds. I'm thinking of a square 3'x3' PVC pipe with holes drilled making a cheap "drip ring" for each 4x4 tray.
