Putting yellow plants into flowering????

I came back from Christmas and my plants are in a bad way the yellowing of the leaves have gotten much worse and some of the leaves are gone completely yellow. Its happened to both of my plants and i've tried evrything but to no avail. The ph is around 6.5 and i'm giving them planty of mutes as far as i know.

I flushed the plant about ten days ago and then watere them with biogrow, rootjuice and a a small bit of bio bloom.

I don't think my plants will last if they keep going like this. Whati need to know is, is it a bad idea to put them into flowering when their in this state. I've been trying to fix the problem for almost amonth but the leavs keep yellowing slowly. I'm hoping if i put them into flowering that the change in required nutrients might help. I can't getany pics at the moment but if you look at the olde pics its the same thing just worse.

So will it be bad to put them into flowering like this ?????

You may see putting them into flower may help them. The darkness to them is like sleep to a human. I have seen many plants look much better after starting flowering. Make sure your ferts are fresh, stop flushing them, let them dry before watering and they will come around.

You failed to listen to my previous advice. :frown: You used a bonkers amount of magnesium. Over 500 ppm mag. :yoinks: You need to increase calcium and potassium. 3/4 teaspoon per gallon potassium nitrate (some stump removers) + 3/4 teaspoon powdered gypsum per gallon. Yellow plants are not good. :bat:

I told you i don't have a soiless mix, its a soil mix, i also said i couldn't afford anything else to put in my plants so my only option was flushing them. I know ideally i should have put less epsom salts but i was told to put more then i did.

I'm can't really afford to keep adding different types of nutes both on a financial level and a time level. So i'd say i'll just put them into flowering!!!

where can one get gypsum and potassium nitrate?
is there any place you can find locally? most of the nurseries around here close during the cold season.

Hoffman gypsum comes in 5 pound bags. Send them a email to find a store...

Good Earth, Inc.

Potassium nitrate is the ingredient in some stump removers at hardware stores like lowes or homedepot. Grants, highyield, dexol, spectricide are some brands. Just check label if you find another brand than these.

Remember he is using this combo at this rate to fix his accidental overdose of magnesium. Both of these ferts are handy to have around for regular use too.

yes, i'm currently in the veg stages and am gathering things i learn about every day. And around me there isn't an all-you-need go-to supply shop.

thanks!

Dude..... Growing pot in an indoor enviornment can be tricky.....what kills the spirit for the novice grower is the fact we have have all put seeds in our mothers flower pots on the window sill in shitty soil,or in the neighbors garden...maybye even thrown them out our window and a month later there they are....Thriving with no assistance..All of this with out using Stump remover or Boron......then we invest time, money, and alot of love doing an indoor grow only to see less than satisfactory results..We get bummed...
Remember!
You must recreate the outdoor enviornment just like good ole mother nature or for your plants or they will suffer...
This is the stuff that isnt in books or on information websites and you wont find it in High Times ( ive read them all and they are all 99% worthless)..."You gotta grow to know".. Hands on experience is THE ONLY WAY to learn to grow, encountering problems seeing them first hand and then diagnosing them until you fix them or kill them..Flowering sick plants does not sound like a good idea...why not figure out how to grow a healthy plant first ...then flower them.....
Heres my practical advice based on a recent experience I had while starting my current room a 12 by 12 bedroom "converted"......Im adding pictures as well..I had the same problem for about 30 days continuing yellowing of lower leaves nothing helped....I have grown for years and I was stumped...I checked the roots and they were small and shallow after 40 days...
Took some pics today 4 ya.....This happened to me this week...
Click on the pics for larger view...
You can see in the pic the plants lost 4 levels of Fan leavesand yellowing continued every day almost before my eyes....

My humidity was 55%+ but unstable
My temp was 80* but unstable
Soil was PH 6.5 ish

Couldnt figure out why they werent growing right.... :badday:

I added this fan in front of the closet..on speed 2 and faced it at the wall next to the plants and opened the closet door all the way...

I covered the windows ( which i was doing anyway) was going to wait until i had enough stock to actually need the whole room...was waiting to hook up the major equipment CO2,Vortex,etc......you can see what that got me...

Problem solved.......Within 2 Hrs I saw new growth on all of my plants....
My humidity went up to 67% ...The plants were breathing and transpiring again..Happy Moms.....
Temp is at 79-82

The new growth might burn a bit because all of the built up nutes in the soil....but i wont flush it ( that will make it worse) ill let the plant take care of them..

There were no roots 3 days ago.. you can see the 2 layers ( one on top) old growth (bottom half...all new and healthy)

The plants are transpiring better.....That was my problem was bad air circulation....It wasnt constant and stable.. and i have fans in the closet ...but there wasnt enough air flow "in and out" that closet ....Now the whole room is circulating and even...temp and humidity is stable and constant
Before my plants werent eating....
Stayed wet for days and days....even with light watering
Showed multiple defs...
Bad roots.....

So before you flush those plants again or give them more Boron :dueling: check the Ph of your soil again...pull one plant out of the pot see if the roots are healthy and growing...make sure you DONT overwater ....make sure soil is airated ie Perilite.....if you make changes to the soil....just change one for a day or 2 see if you notice any positive changes...Pot is a weed it wants to grow fast and any positive changes will be seen in the creation of new growth fast..
It is my experience and based on what i see in these forums that most of the new growers problems are all suffering from over watering , bad enviornment and or over fertilization adding to PH problems....All creates lockout or lock up.....or Sick Plants
So fast heavy flushing will not help and rarely does that is a last resort solution...AND What grower under feeds his plants....Really....cmon....
Its not Lack of anything ....so no mag or boron should be needed...
Good Luck....Stay with it

VanGrow

I built a high tech stealth grow box....It was perfect....No odor.....No one will know i have anything to do with growing pot....I smoked a joint and looked at my creation and reveled in it..........................think about it...

stump remover is a low grade of KNO3, below fertilizer grade...and often times is not the only ingredient. This is a product that is used to accelerate the decomposition of tree stumps. The amount of potassium nitrate present in this product undoubtedly varies from brand to brand (in fact, some brands are not potassium nitrate based, and are useless as fertilizer, such as BonideTM Stump-Out). Additives may also be present in stump-remover to enhance the effectiveness. Sodium Hydroxide maybe?

I might give my azaleas stump remover...I'll give my bradford pears stump remover...I might even give my sunflowers stump remover...but you bet your ass I would never dose my ganga with stump remover!

The BioBizz line of nutrients is weak stuff. Both the biogrow and biobloom are derived from molasses and have low NPK's...its great stuff, if used properly. Using properly means using it only with a preferted or pre-ammended soil (blood meal, bone meal, guano's, etc..)

What strength and what frequency are you feeding?

Thanks for your replies, especially your lenghty one VanGrow its much appreciated. I'll change a few things in the grow room maybe switch the lights to two hours darkness to give the plants a bit of a sleep and maybe get a bit more fresh air in there.

Maybe he is wise beyond YOU sprout, once again we must remind you of posts to you by admin:

sproutco.....While your intentions may be good in trying to help other growers, without the proof to back up a method, whether it be a new or old method, leaves the proposed/suggested method in question. As a grower who most likely has alot more grows under their belt, along with univeristy studies regarding horticulture, I must....with all fairness in mind....say to 'all growers seeking grow information' on icmag that unless the person proposing such can back it up with credible info and pics, please do not take any such advice to heart, whether it be this thread or another. If someone can't back up their theory/method...then that should tell you something about the proposal.

Thread closed.
