putting out the concentrate? / smoking concentrate etiquette

What do you guys do when smoking oil/wax/bubble/etc. on top of a bowl?

I personally hold the lighter above it after I hit it to "put it out" but I don't touch it, cause it gets stuck to the lighter.

Sometimes it flames up. Should I put this out?

Do you guys just let it burn and smolder while you aren't hitting it and it's not on fire? Or Do you try to hold the lighter over it to put it out?

I've been smoking for a long time, just wonder what other people do here. I realize that what I do is the way I do it, but it makes sense to me to hold the lighter over the boiling concentrate to put it out...

I never fill a bowl up to where I can't put a quarter or something on it to smother it out. you can always load another one...you WERE planning on it, weren't you? I've seen tobacco pipes with hinged lids on the bowls...

haha of course I was gonn pack another bowl, I just feel like the fackin lump of oil smoldering away is a total waste

I keep a toothpick or small metal bowl stirrer handy. After a hit, I poke the cherry out with the toothpick/stirrer. That or a give the bowl a little shake back and forth real quick.

It also helps to melt the bho down into the weed before I take the first hit. Lot easier to poke out after without getting BHO all over the toothpick/stirrer.

That's how I do it when I'm not doing dabs. I love doing strain specific bowls like that. Say for instance Kosher Kush with pure kosher BHO on it. Or pack a fruity strain in the bowl and give it that chem/gasoline taste with GG#4 BHO.

two good tools to have is a pipe cleaning tool and a dentist pick. Had a dentist friend and that shit rocks - if ya pack a bowl too hard you can poke a hole right through that, works great for everything.
