putting a vent on a garage door?

Y

I think with summer coming and all my lights running, I need to start venting outside. Basically my garage is split in half, with the back half being the grow area. Then theres another 20 feet between the room and garage door. The lights and A/C vent into this area so the heat in there is getting pretty high.

I really cant vent to the exterior walls as they are brick and I am not willing to cut a hole in the brick, not that big at least. So either I run a ton of ducting to hit the chimmney or just vent out the door.

Basically I just need to find a grill that I can put in the door. Anyone know if they make these? I looked in Home Depot and the only grills I saw were in the AC dept and those are all interior grills and I feel they will rust pretty quickly outside.

Look in the building materials department for foundation vents. They are designed for exterior use and come with both screens and grills.

This is pretty cool. Even has a 5" outside diameter so you could easily clamp a 6" flex duct to it.

Only other items I saw in a search were aluminum grills that you would have to get a shoe made for the inside to connect a duct to.

i think you should drill a vent hole in the brick wall , its easy to do and draws no attention to it. or if possible do as dontstepongrass said , out the chimney =)

I agree with dontstepongrass you should really vent that to the roof its wayyyyyy less inconspicuous and with a grow your size less attention is better. Better to do things right the first time then half a$$ it and risk getting caught.

If it were temporary panic move to get you over the hump, cool but, I've seen your grow and this idea doesn't seem worthy of it.
