I want to share some pics on Purple Zamal ErdPurt (ACE Seeds R&D). One plant is thriving outodoors in the forest glade (49N). It has been germinated indoors end of May 2021 and has shown first flowers after six weeks. The soil is relatively poor and sandy. I`ve added compost and organic long term fertilizer on transplantation day. A handful of organic ferts have been added last week.
All in all this F1 plant seems to be fairly Purple Zamal dominant regarding the growth (height 2,5m, branching) and the flower structure in early flowering stage. The smell isn´t strong. It´s floral with citric hints at the moment. Snails have eaten most of the leaves on the bottom branches this rainy summer.

I am surprised, that this line develops not faster than Zamal Bliss (Purple Zamal x Nepal Jam) did on the same spot two years ago. It was harvested first week of November. ErdPurt should give enough cold resistance for such a late harvest time in my area. The flower structure seems not to be prone to mold that much (up to date).

Hi everybody,
here is a litte update on Purple Zamal x ErdPurt. The flower development is faster now, but not very fast. Height 2,6m. The smell is still not intense. The backround is still floral. Some unspecif organic notes are arising with hints of fruit. The bracts are accumulating resin. I`ve noticed first purpeling of some flower tips. Finish could be around end of October / early November her at 49N.

So happy to find this thread :) thank you very much paisajedehierba i think you are the first one giving a try to this new cross and get back to us, much appreciated!

This a true F1 hybrid between 2 very different genotypes, a long flowering tropical pure sativa of high THC chemotype and a semi-autoflowering extreme Afghani indica of mostly balanced THC:CBD chemotypes.

The indoor seedlings looked mainly Afghani influenced, but later outdoors the genetics develop a thinner sativa structure, but with much more columnar indica like branching than original extreme Zamal side branching. The color of the F1 plant is also darker than your typical pure Zamal of more pale color. Overall, your plant looks more Zamal dominant than ErdPurt so far, the semi auto flowering ErdPurt traits didn't help much to advance the flowering onset of the hybrid at your latitude, but i think the ErdPurt genetics will help with the cold resistance, which i think it's going to be necessary there for the upcoming weeks of flowering. Excited to have the chance to follow her flowering, thanks again!

Unfortunately Purple Zamal x ErdPurt suffers a fast expanding mildew infestation:frown:. I have noticed the first signs early October on single leafes and could´t imagine this expansion. She was so virgouros before. From a distance she looks still good. But some parts of the plant have a nearly white appearance. Other parts are in a earlier stage of the infestation. Some buds are looking very good, resinous, purple tips and are smelling floral with hashy hints (not very intense). I guess she would need +/- two weeks more to ripe fully. But I don´t have a good feeling smoking mildew weed ... have to ditch the yield.

Hello, after a break with Purple Zamal x Erdpurt I have started again in April 2024 with my last four seeds. All four germinated without any problems. All four are male to my surprise. Luckily, I also germinated two Zamal Bliss fem (Purple Zamal x Purple Nepal Jam). A pair of Purple Zamal x Erdpurt 1 and Zamal Bliss 1 grow indoors, the 3 other Purple Zamal x Erdpurt (male 2, 3 and 4) as well as Zamal Bliss 2 grow outside. So I will now probably produce an F1 hybrid of Zamal Bliss and Purple Zamal x Erdpurt and not Purple Zamal x Erpurt (F2). The chance of finding phenotypes with a high THC content and low CBD content with the F1 seeds is probably not so bad. With Purple Zamal x Erdpurt (F2) I would have had to test longer. Nevertheless, I still ordered fresh Purple Zamal x Erdpurt seeds. In the current stage it´s not easy to tell Purple Zamal x Erdpurt from Zamal Bliss. Stemrub smells from Purple Zamal x Erdpurt are mainly fruity/floral at the moment. Outdoors snails going crazy due to a very rainy spring.
I guess I will not let all the outdoor males go until the end ... only observing them a while. I will catch the pollen of the indoor male that is allready switched to 11,5h light / 12,5h dark.

Looks good. For powdery mildew try defoliating and spay with hydrogen peroxide or diluted rubbing alcohol solution. Always best to grow varieties from similar regions to your own. If your fall is wet, grow varieties from regions wet in flowering. Natural resistance is the best medicine.

Hi SycthianGold, fiber hemp may be grown in my area, that I don´t prefer to grow with;). My experience with Zamal Bliss was very good outdoors. Hardy line, rainy autumn, no fungus at all. After the storm-like rains that are currently taking place here, I will treat with net sulfur. Then, despite Afghan influence, PZam x Erdpurt should also be able to grow without powdery mildew. The male plants will make way for autoflowering plants.

One of three Purple Zamal x Erdpurt plants is female. It shows a rather moderate branching and is now 1.60m high. I removed the two male plants. For me it is a bit surprising that the Zamal Bliss plant (Purple Zamal x Purple Nepal Jam) is less large (about 1.45m). Zamal Bliss, on the other hand, already shows a branching that has grown a little longer.

Mainly rainy weather since last post. Max. temperatures roundabout 20°C, sometimes above 25°C. PZam x Erdpurt is thriving very virgous. Height 1,8m. Zamal Bliss flowering onset is faster.
