Purple Wreck - Smoke/Grow Report

Hello everyone! Here is my report.....

I popped 13 purple wrecks and had 9 females. I picked my favorite one and re-vegged it. Then I took 9 clones from the mother this is the report.

Strain: Purple Wreck
Grower: closed4fishing
Grow Info:
400W DWC, Co2, Advanced Nutrients Connosieur, Big Bud, Overdrive and Carboload. 1 Week veg, 9 weeks flower with 14 day flush. Dried 14 days and into jars for curing. Dry weight from 9 clones was only about 3.5oz. The mother I picked was low yielding but super purple and tasty. The high was incredible.
Cure at time of smoke test:
60 days

Bag Appeal: A+
Beautiful light lavender coloring with some florescent greens and beautiful rusty-colored orange hairs.
Smell:
Impossible to describe because of how it varied from week to week with cure. On the plant it's a spicy floral smell but after curing I was able to smell coffee, nuts, berries and ultimately an oily incense smell.
Taste:
Just like the smell, the taste changed with the cure too. About every 2 weeks I would try it. At first the taste was very spicy with a hint of berry, but it soon took on hints of nuts, berries and coffee. Finally though, it started tasting really thick and incense like... almost like a lavender incense
Effect: The effect was very indica. Smoke too much and you will be on the couch. The nice part though was the length of the high. It lasted at least 3 hours and was very good for insomnia and back pain. Not the best for getting chores done but it was sure fun for jammin the guitar!

Final Thoughts:
A good strain for indica lovers. Some medicinal value and great tastes and smells. I didn't keep this going because I moved on but it was a great strain and I've got a couple seeds left :)

Hope you enjoyed my 3rd report. If you could spare a little +rep for a brotha, I'd certainly appreciate it. :respect:

I can't believe the yield was so crappy. Looks like some nice smoke though. I have a pack, but the low yield makes me want to put it on the back burner. Motarebel here I come!

Don't hesitate to pop those beans man.

I chose the smallest purplest plant of 9 as a mother because it would work better in my cab than the taller ones. There were definitely some nice x-mas tree mothers in there and they had great taste and smell too. I just didn't keep them.

All of them purpled except for one. Almost all were spicy except one that smelled grapish.

Cool thanks for this write up. I have 1 PW vegging atm. Sexing it as well, topped the plant & put the cutting in a cup of water in my flowering chamber. I see some signs of it being female but not 100% sure so far.

Here is a different pheno in a 3 gallon pot and 1 in a 2 gallon pot

I ended up with 9 oz dry from these 2 plants under a 600 watt

the one in the 3 gallon pot was lst pretty good and the 2 gallon was topped

the smell and taste report don't say whether or not is smells like trainwreck or not. if something is going to be called trainwreck, we should be looking (smelling) for that "wrecky" smell. its one of those smells. its either got it or it ain't.

Looking good man. I had some high yield phenos like you as well. The mother I chose for this run was really low yielding and I knew it going in. It was the best high though and the best looking though.

Sorry buddy. I've never had true trainwreck so I can't tell you if it tastes like it. I sure wish I could tell you though heh :joint:

I grew something called lemon drop, which is a super wrecky strain. now i am gowing something that is called trainwreck, but another friend who has grown the arcata cut says that's not what I am growing. I have smoked the arcata trainwreck and the lemon drop and the "trainwreck" I am growing smells... well... like trainwreck. lol.

in one thread discussing the best tasting strain (i think) somebody was talking about trainwreck having a note of bile like when you get sick in the back of your throat... i was like... wtf, but the next time I smoked the lemon drop, i noticed it. its only there if you're looking for it, but its there. look for it.

my point is that i think that this a trait that can be bred... its not JUST the clone only arcata trainwreck that can smell "wrecky"...
