Purple Widow - What's this inside?

A friend picked up a very good bag the other day and as we broke apart the buds, there was honey oil (at least it looked like) on the inside of the buds near the stem.

I've seen dipped buds before but the resin/oil wasn't at all on the outside, just on the inside. Not all buds in the bag had the oil either.

We put a blacklight on it and looked kinda like toxic goo - but thankfully a small jar of honey oil I keep around looked just the same under the blacklight.

Has anyone heard of either people injecting buds with honey oil for either weight or potency or any other ideas as to how the oil got in there?:chin:

Wow buddy, that's a new one! You've probably seen plants that will bleed small drops of resin, but I usually see that on the main stem, not inside the flowers.

How did the buds smoke? Taste like earl??

It's not Udub, if I understand what you're referring to.
UW is University of Washington, where the original UW earns it's name.

Smunk and I puffed his purple widow on 4/20, and he was kind enough to gift me with a nug. The sap def wasn't sweet, and it smelled and tasted like hash oil. Got ripped puffing it. I don't think it could be easily injected, as it probably wouldn't pass thru even a large bore needle. If this is a true genetic trait, it's f'in awesome!

It did smoke really good, and like Festi said, The sap burned and tasted just like hash oil.

I even put a little bit of the oil on a paper clip and sure enough, acted just like hash oil.

Also noticed that some of the calyxes had some oil inside when broken open. Much prefer the oil in there versus the seed. :)

This would be a pretty exciting genetic trait - Calyxes with trichomes on the outside, and hash oil on the inside. :woohoo:

Well, there is no best weed,
It's all about personal preference and chemistry.
All I'm saying is I believe that you're referring to;

"UW x White Widow"

Unless "Udub" is a hybrid of "UW x ?"
Then I wouldn't have a clue.

That's all I'm poking at, trying to defend some of the local strains around here.

Thats just sap.......a sugary substance and it doesn't have any thc.

happens sometimes

Spot on. Have had it happen many times. Thick, gooey, tasty, sticky. usually a light to dark honey brown color, sometime sweet, earthy, or hashy tasting. is always a cool thing to see and a good "selling" point. As in, "This bud is bleeding oil boiee."
While growing it usually is sweet to the taste. After drying it takes on a different favor and I've seen it get hard and crumble apart at times when cured/dried. Usually still a bit gooey when freshly sold.
