Purple turtles coco colloseum 1200w (DTW)

When one takes on an area of knowledge as broad as science itself, and an arena as large as the universe, he is likely to find himself in the position of not knowing where to start. In such cases ,the winds carry their own boding , and leaning ladders, and black cats, and most of all, well meaning friends....:tiphat:hello icmag and welcome all!!

...on with show...

So for a few details..room specs , strain , etc..

The strain i will be using is power africa ,(monocrop this time)..medium is coco coir a mixture of rough and fine 50/50,nutrients ive decided to go with maxibloom and silica ive also got some diamond nector which helps with making more nutes available for the plant.

Il be using tap water with a low ec of 100ppm, it actualy works great with maxibloom and almost ends up right on ph target so i like the maxibloom ,no messing around with ph down.

My room is a 5 by 5 by 7 grow tent ...my lights are 2 apollo 600 w dimmables.

For ventilation since the rules are major air movement (twice per/min)my room would need a 350cfm , so i went with 2 150's ,that way at night i could use only one of them and keep the room warmer for cheaper. When lights go on they'l both be sucking all the time ,one just above the bare bulbs and the other with the 6 inch carbon can attached to it.

I KNOW NIGHT TIME TEMPS are important to so i didnt skim on that i went and got a cheapo 120w wall panel heater, its great because its flat and white and gives off convection heating ..ive used them before with good results.

As for my lights and foot coverage ..i have 25 square feet so with 1200 im at 48w/sq/ft pretty close to the perfect 50w.Once the vert racks are in my circle closes to 4 by 4 ,that puts me at 75w /sq/ft..nice since im growing a sativa dominant strain that does better at those watts.

Il be using 2 powerhead pond pumps for drip irrigation, one 750l/r, and one 1900l/r..the smaller one will take care of the bottom shelf and the larger one with the 2,25m head height will take care of the 2 upper shelves, each with their own dripper and top hat grommet ,that way i dont have to mess around with pressure the idea is to keep it simple....

The run-off will be caught in panda film gutters.."i know why didnt i just buy gutters" ..well my budget allowed me to get what i could the rest i had to be a bit creative.

MY GOALS..
its always good to have goals ,right...
I would like to achieve 1g/w on this grow ,with 3 levels and 4 sides and 15 plants per side thats 60..so i would need to average just over half an ounce per plant which i think it quite achievable ..anything more and il be a happy man.lol...:)

Still gotta hang lights, and connect drippers, and gutters, but its coming together...im planning on using HORTI-trellis with biggerr holes for cola support they will be attached in front of the racks also keeping the plants at the 20" inch mark for the 600's.,i dont want them going any closer.....

Nice work Turtle, love to see a build from ground up. Gonna be epic bro, tagged fo sure ...Buddler

Over the past couple days while all this cloning and building has been going on ,ive been attempting to build a krusty single plant bucket for my 2 by 4 closet ...i took a clone before stripping the mamas down, and started it in coco party cup...shes ow been in the bucket a few days ..umm..11 to be exact...and wow shes realy growing!

Now i dont think theres anything wrong with my design but its realy hard to track down any good info on these systems and krusty's been m.i.a for a while..

So my question is does anyone have any good knowledge/tips/advice/experience with them...things to avoid or do better?feel free to chime in ,i know are many great minds down here in vertville.....

Heres some pics.....

krusty bucket

krusty bucket

I basically used a 5 gallon outer and 2.5 gallon inner .....

Should i use more than two drippers for the plant and when running these buckets do you have to flush at all anytime....

Your corner plants will be the weak link in the vert rack chain Bro.....Definitely looks like you`ve done your research and homework , but the corners will grow into each other and compete for light and environment guaranteed.....but....

1/2 to 1-1/2 oz plants are achievable with dialage and knowing when to flip so they all end up right next to each other as well as above and below by end of stretch without choking each other out to create that perfect sideways canopy till end of cycle......now.....

I ran Krusty buckets for a decade with dialed results and only had 1 feed tube , so I guess 2`s ok as long as they stay away from the main stem cuz too much juice too close causes stem rot with bigger plants Bro......

I ran sunken rez`s with 4 plants to insure the "SWC" end of Krusty`s preachin with only 1-1/2" of juice in the lower container at all times bein recirculated 24/7 with air to roots from regenerative blowers after the Thomas compressors took a shit a yr or so in , but solution /lower container/rootzone temps kept below 70 degrees was paramount in importance to prevent root rot back in the day.......but...

These days a lot of folks seem to get around solution temps with EWC teas and bennies that I`m not at all familiar with , but maybe "The Architect" can chime in and give yas some tips on that "biofilter" thingy he runs with dialed results....anyways.....

Welcome to vert-ville....Thanks for the thread and your time......Good luck and.....

Respect....DHF....:ying:.....

I hear you on the corners ...after soaking up some more info i see you ran angled corners with reflectix,in your rooms. with racks..:tiphat: i will be sorting those minor errors out...

You got me thinking "krusty buckets" AND how important the o2 factor actually is along with temperature control...so without a doubt i got a waterfall type thing blasting water down in the rez 24/7 and added more stones for bubbles in the bottom rez container....im sure this should benefit the plants....
