Purple stems???

Guest

I have a clone that has been rooted for awhile now, and she has purple main stem. I know this isnt temperature related cause the one I have in flowering doesnt have any purple anywhere.

I lightly fed her some bloom juice hopeing that would solve it, but it doesnt look like its helping,

Anybody know what this could be?
I use soilless mix.

chances are its just stress. I have had this happen before with no problems. Is the new growth turning purple too. If it is becuase of stess try to figure whats stresing it. When this happened to me I had high temps which i fixed the old growth stayed purple but the new growth whent back to green. I'm not an expert but i hope this helps

Are you sure its stress because my clones all have it and my big flowering plants that are very well looked after have purple stems connecting to the fan leaves. I wouldnt say its a problem because many of other plants tomato's etc get purple stems as a sign they are healthy so it shouldnt be a too big problem.

SG,

I used to grow a white widow strain a few years backs that used to turn purple after the roots developed on the clone. This usually showed me that the plant was actually healthy. I'm not sure if this is your first time growing this strain, but be aware, often times there is nothing wrong with the plant. Just my opinion.

Well if they havent wilted they are growing a root system that means nothing to worry about it will probably go away once the plant is properly established and whats wrong with a bit of colour in the grow room?! :joint:

Speaking for myself its always low temps, low ph or it simply goes away.Chaco. :joint:

Yes, as the plant gets more stable the purple will go away. I wouldn't worry about the purpling in the plant. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't treat it at all.

The process of cloning removes Nitrogen from the plant resulting in purple stems. Assuming that the purple is not a genetic trait, the purple will go away as the def is corrected.

Mix a batch of 1/4 strength GROW nutes with a pH of 5.5 and the purple should go away rather quickly.
