Purple stems?

I growing in 1 gal pots with 50/50 mix of FFOF and light warrior.
My soil has a ph around 6.8-6.9 my run off is about 6.6.
I'm using guano tea and some Age Old Organics w/CalMag(when i don't
have time to brew a tea). which i adjust to about 6.5-6.6 before i water.
I'm in the 4th wk of veg.
I noticed a couple of purple stems around 2nd wk of veg on the lower leaves.
I had some high temp issuse which i've now corrected. before:75F - 85F somtimes would peak to over 90F.
Now:65F-77F
I also had some N problems with yellow leaves thats also been corrected.
But my lower branches are still purple, and some upper braches are slightly
purple.

So what causes purple stems?

I always thought it was underwatering.
Should i be concerned?
apart from the purple stems the plants look healthy
I have 3 hashberry's and 1 durban poison.
This pic is about a week old

Can you take some pics without the hps light on? They hide the issue quite well when the lights are on.

hey..I wouldn't be nervous about the purple stems - many cannabis-strains have the anthocyanin pigment genetically and not because of a problem..but it 'could' be a slight Phosphorus deficiancy.

if your plants have real problems - it will show on the leaves...so I'd pay more attention to what caused those brown spots than the purple stems =)

Thanks Maxe-Igen thats kinda what i figured just wanted to be sure.
Those spots were from an N deficiency i had some wks ago in veg.
Read somewhere that over/under watering could cuase it also, but i
can't remember or find where i read that.
Got one of Jose C's grow books and it mentions purple stems with
phosphorus problems.

cal mag will help you, thats the problem with the leaves, and probably causing the purpling.

if your using cal-mag and still have this problem(Leaves) could be over nuted, sun burned, lockout...... .From your explanation above you're dialing this in still. Don't change too much at once or it could all be in vain. Soil takes longer for plant recovery.Heat stress or any stress takes a while to recover from.Kelp helps plants recover from stress.

I am having the same problem. Im also seeing the stems getting very stiff as well. Is that another side effect of P lock out?

Hey Onepunchko waz up?
I discovered(in my case anyway) that purple stems weren't really a issue with my plants, the yellowing leaves and brown spots were.
I was growing hashberry which i think has a tendency to have purple stems(I could be wrong though).
As for the stiff stems, i never heard of that before, could you give me little more info,
perhaps some pics.
What kind of system are you using-soil or hydro?
What are your temps?
What nutes are you using?
What's the ph of the soil, water?
and any other info.

Yes, that is a normal p;urple color, as for the leaves oct is correct, your leaves are showing a calcium deficiency. weather it's from lockout or not enough, Have you tested your run off pH?
How often are you feeding them and how much of each?

My run was about 6.7-6.9.
I was feeding evey other watering with full strength nutes w/cal-mag.
this is all mute now since i harvested the plant-only one was female.
bottom buds were a bit fluffy, top ones a bit tighter, but damn! that
hashberry is some good shit!
Smells awsome too!

Cal mag you should not use any more than 2 ml of it if you are using tap water and have hard water. If you use soft water from the tap no more than 4-5 ml of water.

You should always feed on the size of the plant and never go by the directions on the bottle, unless cannabis specific nutrients.
