Purple people

Thought I'd make this thread for a few shots I took today, and for any other "purple people" around, feel free to post your best! Totally didn't play with the color balance on these - just resized them for uploading to the forum galleries.

I understand that the purple is a trait that only some plants have, that is sensitive to cold weather.

Here's a pretty bud - stayed green but the leaves have purpled up nicely:


The red is jalapeños - wouldn't qualify for the 'hottest peppers' thread, but plenty hot for me.

And here's a shot of the same plant, a stem that developed a 'candycane' pattern. The main stalk of the plant is completely purple, but this stem showed bands, and then it twisted when I retrained it using twine and a screen for it to grow under. In one of the posts around here someone was mentioning that their Panama Red used to do the same thing - might have been a GypsyNirvana post.



These plants reward us with such beauty. Not looking forward to trimming off these gorgeous leaves in a few days, but definitely looking forward to seeing what other wonders this bud has in store to show me!
