Purple Kush

Ok so this is my second indoor grow so i'm definitely still learning. I am currently in 3rd week flowering out 6 Purple kush clones i got under a 600w hps in a 4x3x5 box i built. I feed Maxibloom, and liquid koolbloom my night temps have been getting down pretty low for about a half hour the past few days. Just wondering if that would make my plants start to get a kinda purple hue to them? And would it be a good idea to start pulling some leaves allow some more light to get in? I have never grown purple kush before and any help or tips is much appreciated. My grow space is getting pretty packed.

yes lower temps can create a purple hue, however purple kush should naturally have a purple hue.

I would remove leafs from the plant, but tying them down so the light can penetrate the buds better is never a bad idea.

Good luck

Thanks for the input my plants were just looking like the leaves were turning a pale green and not so bright anymore but I think it was cuz my light was a bit close and the low temperature could that make the leaves look pale almost like they are starting to turn a shade yellow

Hey Lou you should start noticing leaf changing colors while you are in flower some will start fading yellowing and dropping off. Also IMO that lower cold temps make it harder for the plant to take up cal/mg.

Now about pulling fan leaves off a lot of people utilize this technique some people swear by it and others will tell you not to. Best advice I could give you is try it on 1 of the plants and see how she responds to it. I would imagine some strains react different with this technique or pulling fan leaves off.

For me I always try to do a light defoliation of the plant so light can get to the inside of the plant. I have heard of others tucking there fan leaves to allow for better light penetration. I guess the best to do is expirement a little and see what works best.

So I have come to a conclusion on my leaves discoloring it appears that i have a bit of a cal mag def just wondering if 3 weeks into flower is to far into flower to foliar feed the cal mag or should i just add to soil with nutrient mix?

I don't really practice foliar feeding at all. It may be slightly quicker but the plants can uptake anything through their roots just fast enough. And foliar feeding can lead to other problems like burn from the lights, salts covering the leaves and making it harder for them to take in light and even molds.

Id just add the cal/mag into some water and water the roots.
