Purple Kush Day 68.....(Garberville cut)

hey raskal, you tried her dry yet? i didn't think the flavor came through as well (strong) for me as it seems all the socali guys get, b/c they rave on this shit. not the frostiest plant either. had a very enjoyable high though, could use a cross to get the frost up. what did you get from her smokewise? (particularly compared to bubba and og)

I personally think this purple Kush is just OK compared to OG or Bubba.
The Kush stink is great.
But I had people asking for something else instead of this P Kush.
So it can't be that great.
Like you said Doc.
Not enough crystals and it doesn't taste like it smells.
It's good but not as good as my other strains.
I'm trying the Sr71 Purple Kush next.
I gave my "Garb" P Kush mom away to a friend.
IMO... not the best Purp Kush out there.

Didn't wanna jack the thread but I know jdog was interested. Trich. Tech PK cut at 57 days. I've seen a lot of pics of the garberville cut vs. the TT cut and I have to say the Trich Tech blows em all away. Plus it's alot easier to get the TT cut imo...

Mine is about at the same point in flower as yours.
Mine smells like a chocolate coffee kush with that added purple smell with a slight spice to it.
Looking good buddy.
You'll like the smoke too. Tasty and potent.

Hey raskal, looking fantastic as usual. I was privilaged enough to enjoy some Purple kush recently and agree with JDOg. Although it smelled kushy, and looked nice - a sort of washed out green with light purple hues, the taste wasn't as good as the smell would lead you to believe and it was missing that extra spicy/minty bite of bubba. It tasted like kush for sure, and left that smell in the air but it was only OK compared to some others...

Mine had a choclate coffee funk Kush smell inflower,then lost alot of that whenI dryed it this time. If I didn't get the SR71 PK, I probably would have kept it and bred it with something to frost it up.
Don't get discouraged just because I change my mind about it.
My other strains are just better,that doesn;t mean this strain sucks.

heres some organic og kush i recently harvested that got a pretty purple. i let her go around 11 weeks longest ive let her go so far.

hey raskal, the pk neeeeds a cure to get that danky kush taste and anyone whos smoked good pk knows. it dont come fast either. it always starts out choco/hashy/fruity itl get more rotten then after itl start tasting dank as fuck. you did a great job she looks real nice! i bet the one you let go past 77 will be some good nugs.

I'm not sure whether it was this cut or the Tech one someone else mentioned, but I do know it tasted very similar to Bubba - just more "flat". Having just smoked both for the first time in the past month or so, I will say I liked bubba better. Seems like people like the bag appeal of the pk better in any case (uneducated fools..hehe jk). They were both similar in the quality of the high, but again I'd give bubba the edge. Also some people mentioned the lack of trich coverage which I said I agreed with at first - BUT after going home and looking at a nugget, I take that back. There's plenty of coverage. Regardless, I'd probably give it an 8...on the lower end of the spectrum of what I'd begin considering great bud so it qualifies.

I dunno why but the smell of kush reminds me of hippies...nag champa incense or something.

Lack of trichs? I dunno, unless you guys are smoking premature PK, or PK that has been kiefed, I dont think youre smoking the right PK.. I've never had Purple Kush that wasn't at least above average in trichome coverage. From some of the comments Ive read here, something doesnt match up. Taste not strong, potency, lack of resin...

looks like a snowstorm hit those nuggets... And from Jays descrips I know hes smokin PK. Even some of the less quality PK I've had, has had a strong definitive kush taste, unless it wasn't cured well. The cure brings out that Kush taste exponentially! After a 2 or 3 month cure, the taste just screams kush.. and its one of those smokes that sticks to the mouth for awhile, itll have you licking your mouth afterwards to savor that taste.

There are so many cuttings going around as Purple Kush... "The garberville, the tech, the P cut, SR71, etc". . Unless everyone is holding the same exact cut... people are passing around several different strains labeled Purple Kush. There is only one Purple Kush I know here in Cali, and from the sound of it, there are some watered down versions going around. Same shit with OG, Ive had OG from Humboldt County down to Los Angeles, and it's always been that same OGK.. On ICMag there are like 6 different cuts with significant differences between them... Its ridiculous.

i got one thing to say. grow the pk MORE THAN ONCE. its not a commercial strain its a connoisseur strain. it takes some time to get pinned down right for the best high/taste. it needs to go long, it needs a long cure 2.5 months seems to be a sweet spot imo. its not for the needy and the ones who fiend for weed and who want shit done fast. id like to see a outdoor pk bush because thats the only way to go for the dankest.

soulrebel: pk is some stink. the smoke to me is like a thick fog that creeps through the tiniest cracks just to stink your place up fully. although the lemon lime STINKS TO THE MAX im sure cavalley can relate to that one. wont get the smell out from one hit for days hahaha. yes days.
