Orange - what else not to do at bedtime? :)

Problem was - all I had was a few crumbs of hash left - and some drying Flo - so what's a guy to do? Smoke the hash and the Flo together...:)

Seriously though, the Flo is the ultimate subtle high - in my experience anyway. Not that it isn't strong - it's just incredibly manageable. It's more like a little taste of quality acid - DJ mentioned this in his book, and I was very sceptical of that one. Not any more. It has the stimulation of a sativa, without any of the crankyness - it's so weirdly smooth it's disconcerting. There's obviously some mellowing indica in there, but you never feel it. It's a great 'cheer-up' weed.
My mother called me just now, and often when I'm high I can ramble a bit - to her ears anyway. When she goes quiet, I can tell what she's thinking - "stoned idiot". But on the Flo, it's just chat, chat, chat. The 'mom test' is one of the best I have for quality highs...:)

Herbsman - my Flo is also from Dutch Passion, which would explain the similarity! I do plan to get DJs version for comparison when I get some funds, but I have no complaints about this version at all.

Out of one packet of seeds I got:

1 weakling that died at 1"
2 mutants that were too weird to bother with
1 'reverse hermaphrodite' (i.e. male that sports female flowers)
2 killer males (currently flowering)
4 killer females (two grown out, the green and the purple phenos, and two more, which look to be similar to those at this stage)

So I'm happy with that breakdown, despite the tough crits DP can get.
And yes - the high is amazing. I tasted another tiny bud this morning, and even at that stage (almost dry) it's instantly stimulating. I love it...

Given you're in Humboldt, do you know how this might perform outdoors? I have one in my garden, and even in GB in mid-October it's flowering out nicely. We're having a lot of rain right now, but it seems to be dealing with it OK. But I would love to try some of this grown outdoors in Cali...:)

Hey Elevator Man,

I've never seen Flo in an Outdoor environment, only indoor, and mostly in hydro. I have seen it grown indoor soil as well. How big is your outdoor Flo? I'd be interested to see what the final outcome of yield and stone would be. Also, did you get the Flo feminized seeds? That's what I got. And when I germinated them I did have some that turned male. I'm glad that I have the female Flo which I have now; I've had her for a few years now.

Have you or know anyone who's grown the Durban Poison from Dutch Passion? I have some of those seeds that I've yet to germinate. I can't wait. Currently, I have some Cinderella-99 plants in the process of being sexed. I'm looking forward to this strain. If you like Flo, I bet you'd like Cinderella-99. It's potent and uplifting, as well as fast acting.

Good Flo pics too!! Keep up the good work!

I would say that the outdoor one I have is only about 30" tall, but it's easily as wide now - I topped it a lot to keep the height down (it's in view of multiple neighbours!). However, it's turning purple rapidly now, so I'm not too worried. Also the yield is difficult to predict, as it's not too sunny these days. I would imagine maybe 2 ounces tops, but that's not bad for a shady corner near the house.
I was more interested on getting an actual flowering date/trigger point than anything else, and I never expected it to take so well. However, my friend's outdoor version topped 5 feet easily, but he only pulled 3 ounces. I would respectfully like to add though that he's not that experienced - and he did a few things I told him not to, and didn't do a few things I told him he must do!

These were the regular DP seeds, not feminized, as I specifically wanted some males - I'm surprised you did get some actually. The two I have are now dropping pollen, and I'm trying to catch some every night for storage - after I've locked everything else safely away! I'm harvesting a lot right now, so not worried about those - just the SK#1 and Malawi Golds I have left flowering. I am planning to pollinate them, but not the whole plants! :)

Never grown out the Durban, or any other DP strains to be honest - I wanted Flo more than anything else, and DJ's own weren't available when I bought these. Unlike the Blueberry (and all the arguing that goes with it!), I don't think Flo has actually changed that much over the years, and I'm happy with these for now.
I've never tried C99 yet, or even smoked any, but I'd like to. I do have a sativa-dom hybrid called CrissCross (my spelling) that is absolutely devastating - can get very speedy indeed if you push it too far. That got chopped last night, so I'll post some pics when it's dried - totally encrusted in resin, that one....
