Purple haze x panama stretch and flowering time

I'm growing two female purple haze x panama plants at the moment. They're four weeks and three days into 12/12 but still seem as if they're stretching. I grew them in small 3L pots for ages and waited to pot up into 11L pots until 2 weeks into 12/12. I haven't trained them using LST or anything. The stem is such that I'm worried if I try and bend it over it'll just snap.

So when can I be sure the stretching has more or less stopped? And what is the flowering time i.e. from the start of 12/12 of this strain?

I'm growing P.Haxe x Thai and those stretched quite a bit (3-4x) but were really 12/12 from seed. I know the P. Haze is a lankier version as opposed to a slightly more compact green haze in the Old Timer's lines. I wouldn't be surprised at 3x.

Going to be a while, I think. Guessing somewhere in the 16-18 week time frame. I think Panama is a 12-14 weeker and the Purple Haze was 18-24.

Hello Cola Candy,

The flowering time is something between 12 (panama phenos) and 16 weeks (hazy phenos). If your stems are very thin and flexible then you probably have a hazy pheno. it stretches a lot, especially the haze pheno grown from seed, the panama pheno is easier to grow indoors, it's always better start from clones to avoid undesired stretching. Well I've finished the plants I had and have harvested them and they're curing in jars at the moment. What I find peculiar is that they weren't purple at all, whereas the pics I've seen of other peoples' plants are. Does the purple trait only show occasionally?

Hello Cola Candy,

Yes, the purple trait comes occasionally in this limited edition cross, not so much evident indoors, you will need to grow a few different plants and most recommended to mature them outdoors with slightly (or very) low temps on the second half of flowering.

dubi, how do you feel about Purple Haze x Panama compared to its parents? Is this on par, in your opinion, with expressions evident in its parents or was this more of an interesting limited experiment? I have found very little written about this. Any tidbits of information you can share are appreciated, thank you.

Hey Oneiros, its definitely a winner if that's what you're inquiring. The purple pheno is recessive however so you'll wanna run more than one pack.

I found Purple Haze x Panama a very nice mix of both parental plants. Panama influence helps a lot to improve haze yield and vigor, make stems more robust, lower down flowering time and to reinforce the incensey aromas and psychedelic high.

There are also purple phenotypes in the panama line although they are not so frequent like the green and red/pink panama but still can be found.
